I am holding out hope her next theatre role is a guaranteed tony win. Not sure how much longer she’s expected to be in &Juliet for, but we’re coming up on one year since the Toronto engagement so it’s not unreasonable that she and other cast members may be leaving the show soon. Any thoughts what shows in development Betsy could get herself into next?

I know it was reported the Thelma and Louise reading had Evan Rachel Wood and Amanda Seyfried in the lead roles. If either one of them can’t do a lengthy broadway engagement I think Betsy could easily just right into the show.

I don’t think people realize that as an actor sometimes it’s nice to just pop on and be featured and not be the whole show. Like I’m sure being Jenna in Waitress is a great experience, but sometimes it’s nice to just get the paycheck and be featured.

Once deals are reached for the writers and actors, maybe some film and TV work before coming back to Broadway in a high-profile revival.

Give her around 3-6 years for all this to happen.

I don't think there's such a thing as a "guaranteed Tony win." Yes there are roles where the likelihood of winning a Tony is higher but to state it as a guarantee is silly, in my opinion.  Remember that winning a Tony is simply a result of getting the majority of votes from Tony voters; so whoever the other nominees are (competition) matters.

Ok I stand corrected --- the only guaranteed Tony win I can think of is Aaron Tveit's  Tony win for Lead Actor in a Musical in 2020 because he was the only nominee.

I don’t know, a cup of coffee and breakfast? Maybe yoga before her show tonight?

I think she’ll stay in the show for awhile. It seems like she’s having the time of her life and it allows her to spend time with her daughter.

I agree. She gets to perform and do what she loves, spend time with her family, and get a salary of over $100k/year! Sounds great to me. You don't need to be the lead in every musical you perform in on Broadway.

I hope she stays with the show awhile. While I love the show as a whole, I think her performance and comedic timing are the glue that holds the show together. Not to mention those *INCREDIBLE* vocals. I get jolts of chills every time she sings "That's The Way It Is".

Agreed that she is the heart of & Juliet and the glue that holds the show together and makes it what it is. I was floored by her performance. Vocals, comedy, timing, vulnerability. I love her and Bonnie so much. Picking between them was so hard! I think she will stay in this show for a while. Hopefully, she will originate another role in the near future. Specifically one with an original score tailor-made for her freak voice.

I still wonder what happened with Carousel.

LOL as if $100K is a livable salary in NYC. Granted, she's married, and they certainly aren't living paycheck to paycheck- but that amount of money alone doesn't cut it.

That said- it had to be very disheartening for Betsy (and the entire cast) to be completely shutout at the Tonys- especially since she has been the show's biggest cheerleader. I'm sure that when she does decide to leave &Juliet, she'll get any number of offers- her stock is pretty high right now, with or without the Tony.

Ensemble alone would make $126,828 a year on Broadway (with more as an understudy, dance captain, specialty, etc).

It does us no good to get into salary logistics and what counts as "livable" in NYC, but it's fair to assume Betsy, Stark and Paulo are getting $4K a week at the absolute MINIMUM...probably more, with a bump for a Tony nom.
