Any predictions on what shows will ankle before the big show?
- Boop! ??
- Cabaret?
Real Women... BOOP will depend if Jasmine wins the Tony Award. If she doesn't win, they'll post a closing notice the day after.
Real Women Have Curves possibly before. They may ride it out foolishly until after Tonys hoping for win.
Boop will hold out and close right after Tonys we bet.

CABARET is not going anywhere. They have names lined up for the fall (and beyond).
REAL WOMEN, unless Barry or someone is giving it a financial lifeline.
Even in the unlikely event that Jasmine wins for her (great) performance, an Actress win will not move the needle for BOOP. Even if it happens to win all 3 awards it's up for, it's not going to make a huge difference. Just depends on how much Foster & Haber & others want to pour into it. Should do fine on the road regardless.
I think everything else is safe.
DEAD OUTLAW won't close before the Tonys, but it needs that Best Musical win more than any other show this season. (I don't think it's winning...a lone Best Book win might be its ceiling at this point?)
What does STRANGER THINGS cost to run each week? Has to be around $1.1 million given the cast and production value, right? Meaning that it needs to improve sales or risk being gone by January or sooner, depending on how much Netflix is willing to pour into it.

This is a bit tangential but could be a factor, are there any murmurings of other shows paying to be on the telecast? Because even with no major awards I think a good performance could help move the needle a bit (though of course the shows that need it the most are probably the ones that are most cash strapped).

It's the Tonys. Unless these are a fiend of yours named Tony's predictions?
You wanted Boop to close while in previews.
I guess that opening night party did nothing to sway you.
I'm surprised to see you are still here.

Nothing will close before the Tonys. The productions will all just continue to blow through their reserves clinging on to some glimmer of hope.
I think the only show that will close between now and the Tonys is RWHC. It's not winning Best Score and probably not Featured Actress and even if it did, that wouldn't move the needle.
I don't think it's an impossibility that Boop closes too. As I mentioned in another thread, a Best Actress win (which could happen but I still think it won't) does not move the needle without a Best Musical win and the show is likely not performing. So I think their reasons for staying open, if they do, will be for reasons other than the Tony
Will Smash be around for a while longer? Hoping to see it in July.

Congrats, Huss -- you win BWW for the day!!

I think Smash is around until Labor Day. All depends on the type of sales it does throughout the summer.

Because it's enormously expensive to run, Orville Peck isn't really moving the needle, and its continuation is entirely dependent on star casting, which is a difficult producing model.
I don't expect it will close in the next few weeks, but unless they have some actual bona fide stars lined up it will continue to be a struggle to fill the house. But that could mean September closing, or January, or a year from now...I don't know who they have up their sleeve.
The reports here have been that Orville Peck is great in the role, but who thought he was a big enough name to improve sales? Really feels like they were grasping at straws.
I'm hardly a good judge though. I had zero interest with anyone cast so far. Any name I can think of that I would pay to see, when I Google what they've been up to lately, I learn they've been dead 10 years.

Given the cost to bring this version of ''Cabaret'' to Broadway, the weekly costs and how much they are actually cashing is not insane to believe this production may close before many actually believe it. They need STARS as replacements, real ones.

Then again, while many of the decisions are based on money, maybe it's also based on artistic merit. Sure, Peck is a "name" but he's also terrific in the role and for many, the best so far. I know it all comes down to the $$$ and I'm not naive enough to think they were hoping for more fans...but there's something to be said about casting bigger names that can actually bring something to the role rather than what the original Mendes revival did near the end and start casting Sallys from Frasier and Providence.
Before nothing .. everyone is holding out
after def smash, boop, stranger things, and gypsy

With Boop winning three OCC Awards today I think it holds on at least through the Tonys.

Kind of funny you call out the OP for punction error in thread title and then have "friend" spelled wrong in your post above. I get you made typo error but maybe you should be more forgiving of the OP error.

I can blame my typo on fat fingers and a small keyboard.
I guess you aren't familiar with the OP. I think the Boop Preview thread and Reviews threads might give you a little info if you want. Some of their derogatory posts on certain members were deleted by the Mods but there is still quite a bit there.
They said they saw the show numerous times and knew the investors but kept bashing the show. . They were even there opening night(not) but I don't think they ever did find where the opening night party took place. It appears the whole takedown on opening night is no longer in the thread. That was the stuff of legendary status of someone losing track of what they said.

TONYS are in 4 weeks
Nothing!
When Boop closes does that mean you go bye bye? Boop will close after the TONYS along with RWHC. Cabaret is not closing as a new cast is set for after Orville-Eva.
Gypsy and Smash will close at some point during the summer.
"
Hmmmmm…
maybe…
