I don't really watch the show but Sarah Hyland (Grey Gardens) recently did a Law & Order SVU in which she played a 14 year old girl from a school for children with high IQs (as Ice Cube's character put it, "A genius factory") who killed her roommate. I thought she gave an absolutely breathtaking performance.

Amanda Plummer played a schizophrenic on SVU.

I've also seen Marylouise Burke and Leslie Hendrix. I believe Hendrix is a regular on CI.

Sarah Hyland was SO good! I knew she looked familiar. I remember Angela Lansbury and Bebe Neuwirth were in an episode of SVU together. In my opinion, SVU is the best Law and Order.

Some who I think haven't yet been mentioned: Len Cariou, Frances Sternhagen, Lonny Price, Alfred Molina, Maryann Plunkett, Fritz Weaver, Judy Kaye, Boyd Gaines, Dick Latessa, George Coe, Donna Murphy, John McMartin, Charlotte Moore, Helen Stenborg.

And let's not forget S. Epatha Merkerson, Dianne Wiest, and Sam Waterston.

I recently saw Jeb Brown as a lawyer and I wrote a post about seeing Michelle Pawk as the mother of a card wiz.

Hugh Panaro was on "L&O" for all of ten seconds as a hotel desk clerk. It's actually the most I've ever seen of the show...even though a friend of mine used to work for the show (getting locations, permits, etc.)

Sandra Joseph from POTO also did an episode about a year ago.

Two of my favorites have been on multiple times; Dee Hoty played the mother of a murder victim and in later episodes played a judge, and James Naughton has been on a couple of times.

That's actually not Sarah Hyland's first L&O episode. She was in one when she was a bitty little thang.

Michele Pawk, John Dossett, Roxane Carrasco, Gregory Mitchell and Rob Bartlett come to mind in addition to those already mentioned. Im sure I'll think of more later; I'm a L&O addict!!

I only just recently found out that Madeleine Martin was one an episode of SVU as Cindy Williams' granddaughter. the whole plot was convoluted even by SVU standards, with an accused molester who was SO OBVIOUSLY modeled after Michael Jackson and Madeleine Martin getting poisoned by Cindy Williams so she appeared to have leukemia. what even?
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad
