Here's hoping they do a separate shoot for Jonathan later this month/year.
agreed, that seems plausible.

Tonight? So they're doing it without an audience?
perhaps with an invited audience? that's what dramamama thought.

That sign says cars must be moved by today. To me, that means it's tomorrow.
I hope that they'll just record Lin clapping and laughing and then duplicate them so it's 2000 Lin's reacting to it.
Well, I SUGGESTED it. I'm fairly certain they had an invited audience for both Into the Woods and Whoopi Goldberg's show (which is showing you how freaking old I am).
As for the permit, its for 24 hours, so from 6am today thru 6am tomorrow, seems to imply today.

That really won't work for I Know Him and The Reynolds Pamphlet

That's pretty standard for something they want to release commercially. It guarantees a practically flawless performance.
I didn't even know cars were allowed to park there (there is, after all, a parking lot across the street!) I've waited in cancellation line twice and never saw cars parked in front of the theater other than at the end of the performance when all the limousines and black cars wait for their patrons.
From Daveed's twitter, it looks like he's in seattle. Surely they wouldn't do this without him?

Maybe they're filming Finding Neverland and the Weinsteins haven't told us. x)
this thread seems to have taken on a life of its own. Just out of curiosity, exactly what is the correlation between parking and performance? If there were production trailers there, why are we not hearing that? Or is someone reporting that? Unfortunately I stayed upstate today so I can't wander over to check. Oh, and who said there is going to be a commercial release? The only person with any authority who has spoken to the subject said "dunno." But we LOVE our rumors, don't we?
it specifically says they're filming a Broadway musical but doesn't give the title
I wanted to laugh at the finding neverland suggestion, but after thinking about... I think that might be the case.

Just saying - there are three theatres on 46th...
Anyways, less Daveed being in Seattle (unless he was in the same situation as Leslie), it is possible that they have an invited audience. The Grammy performance was an invited audience. In addition, the Of Mice and Men was an invited audience (I know at least the Wicked cast was invited) that was actually filmed the week after they officially closed on Broadway.
Daveed is in Seattle, Morgan was having a party, Javier is on vacation, Jon Rua and Karla were teaching dance, and perhaps most tellingly, Lin/Reneé/Ephraim/Sasha/Jasmine were at a private screening. Maybe Andrew Chappelle could have played all the parts . . . but his Snapchat says he was doing an improv group today. Hard to coordinate all of those schedules on their day off. Technically, they could all have gotten up and done this at 6 AM - 9 AM or something, then moved on to more exciting activities of the day. But do we really think that happened?
i think we all get it now, MinervaMoon.

Dude, I made one post. Given that people were so ready to believe due to one tiny tweet with literally zero compelling information, I don't this it was particularly out of line.
