LuPone and Cerveris are locks, clearly. But who else will be nominated? Manoel Felciano?

I strongly believe that Patti, Michael, and Manoel are all locks at this point. Updated On: 2/1/06 at 06:06 PM
Call me crazy but I would not be surprised if Patti, Michael, Manoel and Donna sweeped. I know it sounds nuts but you never know. I think Manoel deserves to win.
LuPone
Cerveris
Felciano
for sure.
Possibilities
Lauren Molina
Donna Lynne (brief role, but she's a very important part of the show.)
Benjamin Magnuson
I cannot explain the excitement I would feel if Sweeney sweeped all the acting categories.

Well Donna has competition from Color Purple, and what else? What about Lauren Molina. Her performance is genius.
It seems as though through the process of reading up to this that someone is leaning more support to Lauren than Donna for the featured actress slot, especially since she was singled out in most of the notices. I have no idea if they will get them but I would love to see Lauren and Manuel get the noms.
(After the certain noms for the leads.)
edited to change the first sentance.
Yeah, I'd love to see Lauren Molina win the Tony for this.
Typically, I don't care for the character at all. However, Lauren is one of two Johanna's that I really enjoy. (the other is Celia Keenan-Bolger)

When did Celia do the role?
With all the weak musicals this year, Sweeney could take a lot more featured noms than in a healthier season. Ensembles that big usually cancel each other out, but I wonder if this season will be different...
I think Felicia is locked in for Featured Actress. (At least, I hope.)
I hope Manoel wins Featured Actor.

Hello? Mark Jacoby is so strong as the Judge, what a presence. He's menacing yet so vulnerable. I hope he gets it!

I was disapointed with him in this. I love Jacoby. I expected more.
Celia was in the 2002 Kennedy Center Production.
Anthony Hope - Hugh Panaro
Sweeney Todd - Brian Stokes Mitchell
Beggar Woman - Mary Beth Peil
Mrs. Lovett - Christine Baranski
Judge Turpin - Walter Charles
The Beadle - Ray Friedeck
Johanna - Celia Kennan-Bolger
Tobias Ragg - Mark Price
Pirelli - Kevin Ligon
Jonas Fogg - Steven Cupo
Birdseller - Tim Tourbin
Gravedigger - Eric Lee Johnson
The nominations should be very interesting.
Wow, Christine Baranski must have been amazing as Lovett. She knows how to ham it up. Is there a recording?
Baranski IS my favorite Lovett.
So evily (evilly? evil-ly?) comical!
Patti and Michael are absolute locks.
Manoel is very close to being a lock. His role has been expanded in this production, he has been singled out in almost every review, and is generating a lot of buzz.(Plus, he delivers an amazing performance)
I'd say Lauren has the best chance to sneak in the featured actress ballot. She also has the benefit of a lot of buzz, and has been singled out in reviews. There are a lot of contenders in this category, so Donna Lynn will probably get shut out, and Diane DiMarzio's role isn't showy enough to garner a nod.
If the other shows are as weak as they seem to be come award season, Mark Jacoby could sneak in along Manoel. The surprise could be Alexander, who has a tendency to steal the scene with his take on The Beadle (and was even singled out in many reviews). But his role isn't strong enough. Benjamin is a great Anthony, but it's not the kind of role that gets nominations.
I don't think Michael is a lock to win...but he probably will get a nom. What's his name from JERSEY BOYS - he may be a lock.

There is no official recording, audio or video of the Kennedy Center production. I've never been to the Kennedy Center, but I can attest to the fact that it was an amazing production....wish I could have been there in person.
As for the nominations, Patti is the only person who I'm willing to say is a lock.

Michael is usually well received from the Tony voters and especially the critics.
The chances of him NOT getting a nomination is very slim.
Patti - Definitely
Manoel - Definitely
Michael - Most Likely
Lauren - Maybe
Donna - hopefully?
I really hope that Lauren at least gets a nomination. Her facial expressions are priceless and she creates a Johanna like none before. I loved her. Wouldn't that be wonderful if Patti and Michael both won their 2nd Tony?

Oh this years Tonys are going to be so exciting. I hope they all get shots at a nomination they are all so talented and deserving. However, I wouldn't be surprised if none of them win for acting but rather some of the more technical awards. It is most definitely winning best revival. Any insight?
No acting? I'm sure at least Michael and Patti will win! If only for their names. There is no way this couldn't win at least a couple acting awards. Of course it will get best revival.

Although the acting is good I really don't find Patti most deserving of the award. Yes she does a wonderful job, but my money is on LaChanze. Michael I see more of a contender for a win, but still even that will be tricky
