If Ariana is busy with her music, maybe they can get Frankie?

If "Sound of Music" is any guide, they'll go for a celebrity name in the title role, maybe one other, and surround those people with Broadway folks.

best12bars, are you saying they shout cast someone who is 126 years old? I don't think anyone is that old but there are people who are younger maybe that could do it?

Too bad Elaine Stritch recently died. She could have passed for 126. :)

Wendy doesn't wear glasses so that wouldn't have worked.

I don't know, I think maybe Stritch could still do it.

Wait, you guys are serious about Stritch? How could she do it if she's no longer alive? I really hope they don't cast her over Ariana Grande who is more age-appropriate for the role and can sing so much better than Stritch.

Laverne Cox is really popular right now so I could see her probably getting cast as Wendy in this.

It was offered to Elaine, but she turned it down. A prior commitment that she couldn't get out of.
This just in: Broadway legend Frankie James Grande is in talks for Tink---pending the outcome of Big Brother and the date of his impending nuptials to Cody.
It's a retweet from the Chen-bot so it's gotta be true!

What he said, so how about Lilla Crawford or Emerson Steele for the role?

I'd pay to see Laverne Cox as LaToya Jackson.

I doubt they'll use disney/nick stars like Ariana or Miley..
I'm also almost sure they need someone big...
I was hoping for Maia Mitchell or Lucy Hale but Disney wouldn't probably let them do it.
So on a more realistic side I could see and hope it will be either AnnaSophia Robb, Elizabeth Olsen, or Aly Michalka.
Although I know NBC might try to pull a stunt and cast Taylor Swift or better yet, Rebel Wilson

what about Laura Osnes, or is she not a big enough draw?

Laura would be excellent! And it's not as if she's unknown to TV viewers.

I'm not really familiar with this show so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but why are people only suggesting women for this part?
