Ok, so everyone had heard or read the article about Kelsey Grammer switching roles in "La Cage Aux Folles" come Fall....However, here is the question that is bugging me.
Who will replace Grammer as Georges should he switch (and also if this revival lasts until then)???
I honestly can't think of anyone, help me here!

David Hyde Pierce actually doesn't sound like a bad idea...I like it.

La Bete is due to transfer in early Sept. I'm not sure, but I believe it will run until Feb. I know it's limited - just not sure how long.
Hopefully, DHP will have time to jump into How to Succeed - which is what I would like to see happen.

Paulo Szot was rumored to be playing Georges before Grammer was announced. He'd be great, but I don't think this is a possibility anymore.
Boyd Gaines? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? As long as Grammer is in the cast, they don't need another star name.

Mr Gaines has been a replacement on several occasions. He was the first replacement for Clifford Bradshaw in the long-running Cabaret revival. Granted, he only had two Tonys then, but still...
Personally, I'd LOVE to see Andre de Shields as Georges.

Posted: 4/17/10 at 4:50pmIt may not even be an issue. Kelsey said that it probably won't happen. It would be too hard to rehearse the role and perform Georges at night. If he did, he'd have to take some serious time off from the show and come back later.
