Their headshots are much better. I'm excited to hear how the new cast does.
I've always loved the artwork on the doors, especially Diana's "trying to keep it together" sense you get behind that forced smile. I can't wait to read the reviews!
I like Gabe's "Everything a Mother could dream." Haha. It's so cheesy.
I can't wait to see some new production photos. Those should be out soon :)

Do you think they'll be releasing any video footage of the new cast?
The more I look at these pictures the more I don't like them. Meghann's new headshot is gorgeous, but her picture on the door looks very tough and mean - and her Natalie was so innocent when I saw her.
Those pictures are just as terrifying as the previous ones. Although Meghann's looks better than Jennifer Damiano's did, I think.

We couldn't even get current BDJ footage. lol.
Well Brian was only there temporarily and he was the only new cast member. This is a major cast change with 3 new members to be documented.
I thought it was supposed to be Mackenzie Mauzy....which made sense. But she's not on the site so it makes me wonder....
Meghann. Fahy. Is. Perfection. I'd seen her before several times as an understudy, and she was even better than I remembered. Gorgeous voice, beautifully layered performance, and wonderful acting choices. Every line, every gesture was spot on. She brings a beautiful innocence to Natalie. She was the star of the show tonight.
Jason Danieley is very good and has a good act 2 (his first act was shaky tonight...probably nerves). Oddly enough, he struggled with some of the songs- particularly the lower ones. I've Been was excellent, however.
Marin Mazzie's act 2 is incredibly strong, acting wise. She makes some interesting choices, though she doesn't bring the level of intensity that Ripley and Phillips bring to the role. Her biggest problem right now is that she is singing about 90 percent of the score in her head voice. Absolutely bizarre choice and it sounds terrible hearing I Am The One and I Miss the Mountains sung like something out of Phantom of the Opera. That needs to be fixed asap. I think in time she has the potential to be wonderful. Also, and I know I'll get heat for this- she looks too old. She looks significantly older than Ripley (and I'm aware she's really only a couple of years older) and it just seems off.
It was a great night. Act 2 was a total knockout.
I really liked Marin. anyone who thought she would be too icy for this role is greatly mistaken. She was in tears for the majority of the show. Her act 1 still needs some work, and as of now some of her singing is too classical. But her act 2 was a revelation, this act was easily on par with Ripley. Some really wonderful acting choices. She is only going to get better and better.
Jason was very good. But like Marin, his act two was also better. He really is one of Broadway's best male voices.
They had wonderful chemistry which was obviously expected.
Meghan is on par with Jennifer. She is wonderful.
Overall I had a great night.

PS Mackenzie Mauzy is the Natalie understudy. She had a "Joining the Company" insert, which was odd, since the rest of the playbill was updated.
AG wrote a wonderful summary. I'll say that Marin and Jason did wonderfully. There was a bit of phasing I think during I Am the One. Marin certainly was under a lot of pressure to deliver and did just that. Jason and Marin both had some great dramatic moments. I think the show is going to do well with them.
Great to hear that everyone's off to a good start. I am surprised that Marin is doing everything in her head voice. She has a beautiful belt so that doesn't really make sense, but I guess we'll see what happens.
Just like any new cast members, give them a while to settle into the roles, but I think that they will do amazing.
It sounds like they should consider lowering some of the score for Mazzie --
She belted the hell out of You Don't Know, and I actually thought to myself, "Ok, now we're cooking." But then, she sang the I am the One part of the song like opera. Bizarre.
And while her act 2 is excellent, its nowhere near as good as Ripley or Phillips. Not even close.
Can anyone post a picture of a new playbill?
Of the cover? It looks exactly the same...or did you want the cast list?
Well the reality is Marin is a classical singer - she can belt but she doesn't have the kind of high mix rock belt that singers like Betty Buckley, Judy Kuhn or Alice Ripley are able to pyrotechnic - she was the most legit EVITA I've ever heard. So I don't think its really a question of her choosing to sing part of the score in head voice - its just probably too high for her to belt. They should just drop her material down a third.
I saw Marin's Diana is much stronger and forceful at times.

Someone said that the cover reflected the new cast. I guess not. lol.
