Wicked Clone The Cinema Musical had a fantastic opening night! The musical is for all ages and families, for all cultures and personalities! The starring Indiggo Twins radiate light and love through all their pores and dominate the audience through their majestic songs, rich soulful vocals, one of a kind dance, fearless and genuine acting and ... transforming message!
Wicked Clone is a mesmerizing and unique blend of film and musical that transports the imagination from 15th century Transylvania to modern New York City. The story of a vampire who seeks humanity and her twin sister who pursues her across time and space is an allegory of the struggle between good and evil.
This inspiring story is told through art house quality film; pop gypsy songs with catchy melodies and lyrics; choreography synchronized between the twins and the film; acting infused by the chemistry between them and by their non-stop energy; and their entire hearts and souls.
The blend of the immersive nature of film and the interaction of live performance takes the audience to new heights of entertainment. Currently scheduled every Thursday @ 7 pm through Oct. 5, more information and tickets are available at: https://www.telecharge.com/Off-Broadway/Wicked-Clone-The-Cinema-Musical/Overview
Having read the book Wicked Clone--which I loved, I was really excited to see how the Indiggo Twins would adapt it to a stage play. Well, they didn't exactly...instead, they created a unique audio-visual experience encompassing elements of film with live action and original music. Adoring fans were swept up, and included, in this whirlwind romance of stage and screen and serenaded not just by the fine vocals of Mihaela and Gabriela but also by the seemingly impossible multilayered production and acting. Even the occasional adlib was endearing because the audience was rooting for the righteous and the wicked. I would expect a play of this quality to be on Broadway. I expect that it soon will be. Go see it now in the intimate setting that is St. Luke's Theater.
@raddersons, Nothing fake about my testimony. I was there and was blown away by the show. All you've done so far is sit and punch your fingers against a device and do a fake critique. Go to the show and get a life.
@Raddersons, That's for the compliment. I'd like to take credit for being one of the creators of Wicked Clone, but that's not who I am. This is who I am: https://www.facebook.com/recordsmith, and here's what I do: www.recordsmithpa.com and www.moffitt-smith.com. And I can assure you that Vincent2 is not one of the creators either because I met him at the first show. We're just big fans and were blown away. And I really think you'd enjoy the show as well!
The Cinema Musical of Wicked Clone definitely did the Cinema Novel justice! I felt like I was really there, in medieval Transylvania, and then in Times Square; just as when I read the novel. And, like the novel, the emotions, suspense, and imagery were INTENSE! ^_^
The Twins’ singing voices demonstrated excellent range, dynamics, vibrato, and advanced “vocal gymnastics." And you could hear the innocence in human Mihaela’s speaking voice, and the evil in vampire Gabriela’s. Their action-packed dancing, fighting, and film projections truly brought the story to life. And it’s amazing that 99% of the work in this musical was done by only two people!
SOME OF MY FAVORITE PARTS (don't worry, no spoilers):
I got to see what the different characters look like, for the first time ever! I got to see Vlad, Lucifer, David, and Rommy! I also FINALLY got to hear how certain songs go. I knew the words, because of the Wicked Clone poetry book; but I finally heard the melodies for the first time. These songs included “Honey Money” and “Dracula’s Land”.
I loved the parts when you could see the Twins' shadows. I also loved when Gabriela roller-skated around the theatre, skating past the audience members.
I was AMAZED at Mihaela’s vocal range! At one point, she belted out an impressively high note- one note lower than the soprano “high C!” And Mihaela usually sings the lower parts!
It made me happy to see I contributed to the play, in a small way! I remember giving the Twins two requests, inspired by the “Tell Me Less and Love Me More” official video: I loved the playful romance between Mihaela and Charlie Chaplin, and I requested to see more. I also liked how Mihaela pronounced the “L’s” with her tongue touching her lip, since it suggests a fangless mouth. So I requested more of that too; and I thought it’d be perfect for a human-vs.-vampire version of their famous “LA LA LA”.
Sure enough, in the musical, Mihaela and Gabriela sang “LA LA LA” back and forth, like a battle; and Mihaela’s tongue was on her lip. Later on, Charlie appeared. We saw the full story of Mihaela and Charlie falling in love in New York; and they danced together for two flirty, Latin-flavored songs. So it made my night to see the Twins take my requests; that means so much to me as a longtime Indiggo Twins fan. ^___^
I loved Wicked Clone. I’m sure you will too! (Just don't bring young children; the content is too violent and adult-themed for them!)
You do make a good point. I never thought of that before. You're right; a lot of people might think it's a clone of Wicked when they see the title. I wouldn't want that to happen; people would be missing out on an exciting play that's completely different than Wicked.
There are no shills here. No one gives a crap what any of us write on this stupid board. Seriously, less than 0.1% of all theatergoers even bother coming here and reading posts. I'm a theatergoer - a frequent theatergoer and I come here for news and cast recording releases, that's it. Occasionally, I lurk on the boards. I just discovered Wicked Clone from the cast recording section on this site, bought it and LOVE IT, so I wanted to see if I can find out more about this. No one is going to see a show or not see a show based on what anyone says here.
Seriously, why do some feel the need to constantly knock others down. There are people that like all sorts of different things. Just because someone likes something you don't, or don't know anything about, doesn't mean they are a shill. And just because someone's first post my be applauding a show doesn't mean anything either.
I got into theater when I first saw POTO right after it opened in London. I would have come here, registered, and written up and down and left and right about how fantastic the show is. We all start some where.
The CD of Wicked Clone is great, and a lot of fun. Check it out.

So, those hundreds of "What Show Should I See?" threads posted every year don't really exist? It's interesting to know that nobody makes a decision based on the opinions of others, including friends they've known for 15 years with similar tastes and interests. Your psychic abilities are super impressive!
But the newly coined terms "cinema novel" and "cinema musical" are catching like wildfire amid the world of shills specifically for Wicked Clone. You see them used every time someone makes a quotable reference or blurb only when speaking specifically of this show. Performing songs in front of a video screen is so unique, it deserves its own sub-genre classification.
I'd definitely go see this if I loved "true" stories about vampires and 90s synth keyboards. The cinema novel reviews on Barnes & Noble are all so superfluous and similar. It's a wonder why this hasn't become the new Harry Potter or Bible. I'll place the trailer for the musical here with the following description provided by another devoted shill:
"The trailer is a fast-paced cinematic showcase featuring the Indiggo Twins dancing and singing with grace and royalty to their original composition “Queen of Tango.” The trailer has a European sensibility, reminiscent of Andrei Tarkovsky’s films with their haunting, pictorial and poetic imagery. The song, dance, costumes (created by the Indiggo Twins) and images of smoke and birds create a haunting atmosphere suitable for a story about identical twins born in the 15th century traveling through time and space from Transylvania to modern New York, where they now live and work. This video is well worth seeing for the dramatic music with classical and tango influences, the memorable lyrics, the graceful dancing and the beautiful costumes."

That's not what I meant and you know it. Hundreds over the course of how long, a year? That's nothing. That's such a tiny tiny percentage of theatergoers. That's what I was getting at. No comment for or against any show on here is going to make or sink that show. I'm certainly not going to put much weight into what anyone says on here, or critics for that matter. I'll see what I want to see and not see what I don't want to see.
Why are you ranting about this? The thread is over a year old and surprise, surprise, those shills are long gone.
Who listens to opinions here? The other posters/regulars/lurkers. It matters not whether we influence the world...just those that come here looking for info.
Shills come here all the time. Theres one over on the King Kong board now.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

That has nothing to do with whether or not there are shills on BWW. It's like saying you don't believe there are evangelists because you're not religious. And if you don't believe there are gullible people in the world, look around (hint: President of the United States). Nobody here has said that shills or opinions on BWW can make or break a show, so I don't know why you're so focused on that.
