Any idea what happened to Lindsay Pierce? She was replaced mid-show a few weeks ago by Jennifer Dinoia and hasnt been back since. Anyone?

I heard she sustained an injury and will be back soon

My *assumption (based on her IG stories of walking around town, going through the park, etc.) that it’s more of a personal leave of absence. She posted a few days ago that her best friend’s partner was in the hospital and she was asking for prayers. So I’m assuming she’s with them and helping/supporting friends during a difficult time.

She did mention her leg giving out as the reason why left mid-show a few weeks ago, but I don't know if that's the reason why she hasn't been on since

Figured that bumping an old thread would be better than starting a new one -

Does Lindsay have any planned absences coming up, or a departure date? I really would love to see Brittany’s Glinda (she starts full-time tonight!) but I would rather see another performer on as Elphaba.

She’s an incredible Elphaba! You’re entitled to your opinion but I think she’s amazing. She doesn’t appear to have any planned absences right now, but she did a live with someone a few…weeks ago? Where she said her final performance date would be May 22nd. Who knows if that’s actually her end date though given the pandemic and the fact that she was out due to the injury. She could extend her contract, but right now that’s what she said.

September to May, plus the month she was in before Covid sounds like a standard Elphaba run so that date wouldn't surprise me at all.  I'm surprised she announced that publicly because Wicked is notoriously crappy and late at announcing lead cast changes.  I remember when Lindsay was replacing Hannah I think there was like a 2-week notice which was just absurd as I wanted to see Hannah before she left and also wanted to see Lindsay's opening night but 2 weeks was not enough time for me to plan a trip and take off work.  It was ridiculous and that's not the first time Wicked management has dropped the ball on that kind of announcement.  I was thrilled when they announced Brittney so early, but that was likely for PR purposes due to the historic nature of Brittney's Glinda.   I wish they would make that standard.

This would surprise me, especially with her attendance rate. Feels like she's just getting back into the swing of it, let alone leaving
