So Popular...does that mean you owe me an In-N-Out burger with fries and a strawberry shake? Hahahahahah.

When I originally posted this thread that was my concern, a simple matter of semantics, were all the VIP seats sold out? I guess my information was correct, to a certain degree. Well, I got seats in the VIP section for the 2pm on 7/30, maybe as close as the 5th row, but no worse than the 20th row. I am looking for tickets on the first weekend. I think I will pay over $200 for each ticket.

I hope I will be right on a new cast member for the LA run. It would be nice to see Cheno.

Well that is what I'm trying to find out. When I used my friend's Amex password to check for tickets all the VIP seats were taken...my question is, are they really sold out or are they just not released yet? Hmmmm, no way about the In N Out :) At least I hope I don't owe you one cause that'll mean no seats!

By the way, did you mean 6/30? I thought the run was only until mid July?

Ticketmaster has it running through July 17, but the subscriber pamphlet has it running through the end of July. Hmmm... I would guess that agencies have season tickets year after year. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. In any case, I'm not too worried about finding something. That's a huge theater and at least a four week run. I cannot believe all the good seats are sold. Subscriptions cost more than any other comperable series in L.A. because there are 6 shows as opposed to 4 at the Ahmanson, and most of them are pretty dull this year (very G-Rated Disney-type shows) so I don't see all the good tickets being taken by subscribers.

Wicked is a 6 1/2 week run, beginning 6/17 to 7/31. And again, from what I have heard, on April 3rd ONLY single tickets will be available in the center VIP section of the Pantages. I hope I am wrong. Eslgr8 is right about tickets being available, but being the theater snob that I am, I prefer to sit in the center part of the theater when I see a show, especially since it will be my daughter's 1st time to a broadway show. I want her to see the expressions and catch the spit of the actors.

Where is the information on the OBC member being a part of the LA run??? Somebody go out and find the correct info!!

Popular...what movie was that quote from?

Philadelphia...good ol' Denzel's character said that a lot. So now it's till the 31st?? Why does ticketmaster say the 17th? I'm so confused!!

Ahhhhhh!! I should have known that...if you would've bet me a burger, you'd be eating one right now...good quote.

Ticketmaster is the root of all evil. Ticketmaster is WICKED!! I don't have a lot of good things to say about them. That goes back to the days I would try to get concert tickets for KISS and the Bay City Rollers, back in the day, and they would were corrupt back then...and they still are today. I don't trust them. That's why I buy tickets from ticket brokers, at least they admit to being slimy dogs.

Enough said about those guys!

How good are the rear mezz seats in this theatre. I really don't feel like paying 70 dollars for a ticket when I can pay 25. Are you able to see ok?

From my experiences, you are better off going to the box office. Ticketmaster only pulls up seats IT thinks are best. Plus the theatre's box office will be able to look for other seats if you don't like those. NEVER buy a ticket online unless you KNOW that the seats it pulls up are good, otherwise you might be in the front orchestra, but so far off to the side that you'll see five feet of the stage and nothing more!

Noah3...the Pantages is a huge venue, about 2,000 if I am not mistaken. Rear mezz is very poor, unless you have some power binoculars or enjoy seeing everyone else have a good time but you. I would look for other seats. But I am a bit anal about sitting up close for the theater. I need to see the faces of the actors. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

re: Wicked Tickets at the Pantages in L.A.

The second time I've agreed with SimpleJoys tonight! If you can afford to sit closer, by all means do, in the Pantages. The seats go from Row A to Row Z and then from NN to ZZ!!! And that's just the orchestra. Use this seating chart if you're ordering online. And good luck in finding the best possible seat in your price range!

If you are local, they you'd better off going to the box office the day you want to see (weekday is better). They have returned tickets/house seat etc. and usually they are good seat. I got mine for Evita opening day, 2nd row Mezz center about 2 hours before the curtain time. Of course Evita is no Wicked but as they will be running more than one month, your bet should be fine.

If you are an out of towner and have to come on the weekend, you can still hope for the returned tickets in the middle of the run (not right after the opening or near the closing date). I'm coming from Northern CA and I won't purchase the tix until I get there as I don't want to pay the outrageous fee and sitting in a crappy seat.

i got my tickets two weeks ago and the seats they had available (at least on the weekends) were terrible. the pantages is one of the most beautiful theaters but it is so damn big. i am sitting in row TT and i am not happy about it!

i couldn't believe how many seats had already been sold, before they became available to the general public.

maybe they will need a longer la stay. the tour could skip chicago and come to la early and have the chicago sit down cast start earlier on April 29th. i know that is much easier said then done.

Here is what I can share....

Wicked and the Pantages held a special group ticketing event about a month ago to promote group sales and the show. At this event, Kendra, Shephanie and Swartz performed. They mentioned that Kendra and Stephanie will be performing in LA. They also stated that they are hoping to sell out the show with pre-sale and group ticket sales and that their hope is that only individual tickets (or none at all) will be available once general tickets go on sale.

After hearing this, my group set up a large ticket block. It was about a three week process from filling in the paper work, having it processed and actually being told we got the seats we wanted. I guess the demand has been very high for these blocks of seats.

I also got tickets through the pre-sale events with a gold card member and when we did that, we eneded up about mid-orchestra.

From what they shared at this event, they plan on having Wicked return in about a year and a half to two years for a longer run.

Micky Mouse...can you help me? I am looking at purchasing seats in the orch. but they are seats 305 to 308. Can you, or anyone, gauge how far off to the side they are? Thank you.

Those seats are not very far from the center isle so, I think you will be fine. Try not to get in the double letter rows through. :)

Does anyone know if you can go to the Pantages during the daytime and tour the theater? I would like to do that. They do that at most of the sports venues, so you can see the sight lines for the tickets you are going to purchase.

I'm curious if anyone knows the answer to this one. Has the Pantages caught onto Broadway's "dirty little secret" scheme as far as holding back center orchestra seats and renaming them "premium seats" selling at twice the price? I would think if any show could do this on tour it would be "Wicked".

I've sat in B207 and 308 and didn't mind either of them. Loved being close up even if I did see things from an angle. But I'm curious, are you buying with an Amex Gold Card? Because individual ticket's don't go on sale till Sunday. I'll be reserving online. I'm pretty confident I can sit close up for at least one of the weeknight performances. I'll post the results after I (hopefully) can make my reservation on Sunday.
