As far a I know, the tickets go on sale to the public on April 3rd...so unless all the AmEx presale people get to them first...who knows. Where did you hear that by the way, what ticket service? Updated On: 3/19/05 at 01:44 PM
Not only is it not sold out.. but single tickets have not gone on sale. Only subscription tickets. And the subscription tickets are not going as fast as they had hoped for.
I didn't mean to alarm anybody...I spoke with an independent broker that works with the Pantages buying group blocks of tickets. I don't know if the information is too reliable. I just met this broker.
Any news on the earlier rumor?

I hope you're not right! I think you should meet me at the Pantages with an In & Out on the 3rd, cause when we both get our tickets it's hopefully YOU that will be handing it over. LOL
O.K. Popular...I hope you are right about the tickets, I am pretty frustrated about the ticket process. I called the Pantages about getting a subscription ($475 a seat for the 6 shows of the season) and they could not tell me where the seat would be in the orchestra!!! They couldn't even guarentee that the seats would be in the center. I am have been born at night...but I wasn't born last night.
Well I am headed out to In-N-Out burgers, so I hope you win the bet, hahahaha

SBU, did you care to sit in the mezz or was the orchestra full? The Pantages is so big that the back half of the orch is a horrible place to be. I am starting to think that the entire center portion is sold out.

Simple; It is not sold out. They block of certain seats and save them for when single tickets go on sale. If not; ticketmaster would not be to pleased..... And yes it is true. Front mezzanie is way better than rear orchestra in that theater. So stay away from double letter rows from JJ back.

I now have to plan my assalt on the ticket broker, that I thougth was upstanding, for giving me bad info. I am not looking forward to paying big bucks for good seats. (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10....breathe or SCREAM, I am cool and CALM!!!)

Also; with the fact that the Pantages is so big and a lot of subscribers cancel or change their tickets all the time.. there is never a problem getting tickets at short notice.
OK, so I got a friend to lend me their Amex card to check seats and I literally checked the WHOLE L.A. run!! NO VIP seating left AT ALL!! And full priced tickets left are from about row Z and back in the orch off to the side or if you don't mind being in row E and further in the Mezz the center is still pretty available. What do you predict is left once it goes on sale to the public? How does this presale thing actually work and do they hold back a block of good seats to release later (I'm not talking about house seats for friends of cast and such) or is it only going to get worse? And any more rumors about OBC members doing the LA run of the tour??
I managed to find Mezz Row C center but that was one of only two days that I found front mezz seats for and it's obvioulsy in the middle of the week and not a weekend.
THE GOOD NEWS IS... April 3rd is the end of daylights savings time so maybe everyone else will forget to loose the hour and they'll be at the box office an hour later than you!!!

I've had no problem getting excellent seats for any Pantages show, including Hairspray. I go on a weeknight, and I don't mind a side seat up close, which it what I've gotten every time. I hope you're right :) I still don't get how it works though... after the subscribers get their tickets they sell a certain amount of other seats for presale while keeping yet another block of tickets on the side for general public sale? What block of tickets do the house seats come from then, cancelling subscribers? Where do the tickets that the cast can request to reserve for friends come from?? And how the hell do these brokers get all their tickets first? It's a wonder there are any seats left at all after all that. But yes, you are right, there usually isn't too much of a problem getting seats there - but then again, I think Wicked is probably one of the bigger shows to be there in a while. Even the Patti LaBelle/Wayne Brady Chicago flop didn't sell all that well, id it? I usually don't quote movies but please, "somebody explain this to me as if I were a 3 year old"!!
