Posted: 12/11/10 at 11:15amWhen I saw the show, I got my tickets at about 6:00. The person in the box office was strict about the one-per-student-ID rule. The seats were to the far left about six rows back. They were very obstructed and we couldn't see 2/3 of the projection. We moved at intermission to the front row all the way on the left, which was worse: we saw the projection well but missed a lot of action because the stage was so high. For the price, though, I can't really complain!

Posted: 12/12/10 at 4:24pmI saw the show on Halloween. They didn't ask for my ID either. I got first row all the way to the side. I had to strain to see some of the action and certainly moments upstage were hard to see. I wouldn't have minded as much if the show was better.

Posted: 12/12/10 at 4:54pmI think it's whatever is left. I've always been in the orchestra. Sometimes partial view, far sides. And twice I've gotten full view seats, D10 and L5. I don't know how some of you are getting center orch, I'm jealous! I've done it 5x, and have only been on the side.

Excuse me if the question is terribly simple, but why aren't the rush seats going faster? With so many names in this show and with it being early enough in the run, I would assume rush would be more popular. Now I'm thinking that I'll be able to see this when I'm in New York in January.
ETA: Eek, just saw that A Little Night Music is closing January 9. I only have time to see one show. I saw Night Music at the beginning of its revival, but I'd love to see Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch in it. And I've already seen Patti and Laura in Gypsy.
Which would you recommend seeing - A Little Night Music or Women on the Verge?

Posted: 12/12/10 at 10:24pmI haven't seen Verge, but definitely see Night Music. Fantastic show and Bernadette's performance is not to be missed. From what I've heard the cast is the main reason to see Verge and if you've already seen Patti and Laura in Gypsy, you probably wouldn't be missing much.

Posted: 12/13/10 at 11:57amRow A is the first row. Row AA & BB don't exist for WOTV, despite some seating charts still showing them.

Haven't received the good center orchestra seats that others have mentioned, but the last time I rushed the show--two Wednesdays ago, when de'Adre was on for Sherie--I received excellent center-aisle mezzanine seats. I think I was in Row E. Really fantastic. Having seen the show from both the orchestra and the mezzanine, I would highly recommend getting mezz seats if they're available. It's a great vantage point for the way that this particular production is set up.
The box office attendant couldn't have been nicer. He asked me how many tickets I needed, so I guess sometimes they let you exceed the one-per-person limit.

Posted: 12/13/10 at 1:12pmI've seen it 4x, always been int he orchestra. More recently it has been center but they do give out the sides.

Posted: 12/15/10 at 8:58pmAccording to studentrush.org, they start giving out rush tickets two hours before curtain (which is the Lincoln Center Theater policy), but this thread makes it seem like they give tickets out even earlier...do they start distributing them when the box office opens?

Posted: 12/15/10 at 10:38pmThis is an easy rush. I got ticket (partial view, but beggars can't be choosers) minutes before curtain, and that was before the horrible reviews.

I was row D on the left side. Full view. I moved at intermission though.
I def. want to go back and see it.

Posted: 1/2/11 at 10:07amI might be in the city to see whatever is left and would like to know if they honor tickets to high school students. The reason I'm asking is that when I tried to see Elf, they didn't allow me to get a ticket.

They're not even checking IDs this weekend.
I think they just want to fill it up. During "Madrid" at yesterday's matinee, Danny Burstein said to the audience, "You're just happy we're closing and you got a cheap seat!"

Posted: 1/2/11 at 12:58pmI saw the matinee on Wednesday. Walked up at 1:30pm and got a great seat in the 2nd row of the orchestra all the way on the right. I didn't feel like I missed anything. They seemed to have plenty of rush seats left even after I got mine. They didn't check my ID.
