"My question is this... I have tickets for OCTOBER 14TH ON STAGE. What happens? Will I get my money back? I am so confused. Will it extend?"
You'll get your money back. I had tickets to Drowsy Chaperone last year for a date past the closing night and I got my money back minus ticketmaster's service fees. I think telecharge refunds 100% of the money but I'm not sure.
This really sux ... just shocking!
And I couldn't even get a stage seat for the last show... wahhhh!
Jenni'du & I will be there in row L, but at least we'll be there.
This ruined my day.
My week actaully.
I'm glad I got to see it over the summer....
When I first read the thread title, I thought it was going to move Off-Broadway.
I wouldn't mind if it moved Off-Broadway. That would mean that it would still be open after October 12.

Ugh, I thought I was having a bad day before... reading this makes it even worse. I have to find a way to be at that final show!
And this is what happens when you take things they throw off the stage into the audience. LOL! i'm just totally kidding. If that was the case, it would have closed after the matinee on 6th.
This makes me sad. At least I got to see it once. And I got "thonged" by Mary Testa, and I have the actual thong storing away with my playbills and ticket stubs.
Edit: Is it possible to be sad, mad, and happy all at the same time? That's how I feel right now, but about different things. Obviously the sad feeling is over this show.
I know I already posted, but I'm just...like in shock. Had someone come on here and said [tos] had closed, I wouldn't be surprised. Upset as all hell? Yes, because I think it has the strongest book and some of the best lyrics of any new musical. But not that surprised since I've basically prepared myself for that. But this?? No! I've been rationalizing a way to get to NY to see this, going as far as making a budget of expenses and everything (I live all the way in Las Vegas and I already went twice over the summer). In (honor? memory?) of The 'Du, I put my cramazing keychain (the disco ball and roller skate) that I always kept away with other show memorabilia on my keys. It will stay there 'til the 12th.

This is REALLY bad news ! One of the most fun, energetic, wonderful shows I've ever seen ! I'm really happy I had the pleasure of seeing this gem twice on my April trip and I wish all the fantastic cast all the best !!
i never got to see it, but i listen to the OBCR and watch Broadway on Broadway and Broadway in Bryant Park clips every day! and i really wanted to see it next summer
I'm so sad to hear this. I was so looking forward to seeing Xanadu with friends when I come back to NY in Nov and now I won't
Thank you, Xanadu, for being amazing.

I never really liked Xanadu, but I know what it's like to lose a Broadway show you really truly love, so I feel for you guys
Woah! Did not see that coming. I don't know much about Xanadu, but my condolences to the Fanadus.
Though I am very sad about this, I am also looking forward to the possibilities ahead for such a talented group of actors and actresses. These people made everyone of us who saw the show laugh until our sides hurt. I was fortunate enough to have seen the show 4 times(something I have never done before)and everytime was a complete blast. I wish the cast and crew the very best of luck. Thank You for the magic!
Wow! This was a suprise. I wasn't expecting this.
I was upset enough that Curtis left last Sunday and I didn't know about it and missed seeing him one more time. Very sad to get this news.
Wow. I haven't seen it in almost a year (it was just after the Flea Market last year), but it's definitely sad and the show will be missed. Best wishes to all involved for future projects.
It seems it's a day for bad news in the entertainment world.
But how about a little perspective? 'Xanadu' turned out FAR better and ran for FAR longer than any of us could even have dreamed when the project was initially announced. Whereas the news that Eoin "fart jokes" Colfer is stomping on Douglas Adams's corpse by writing new work for the increasingly inaccurately titled 'Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy' trilogy has precisely NOTHING in the way of silver lining to keep me from feeling sad.
Ah well. I would have liked to have seen 'Xanadu', so it is sad it's closing, but as I said; it did bloody well, all things considered!
Its a very unpredictable world we live in these days and pennies must be saved.
The show has struggled with or without stunt casting for a number of months now, I guess its bailing while the going is good.
18 months and 500 plus performances is a fantastic run.
Its been threatening London for the last year but this may not help it's journey across the pond.

What a WTF moment...it wasn't doing that badly.
Will be in Texas traveling with my father and brother for the first time in 15 years on the 12th, so I guess I'll be missing the last performance.
Thanks for the memories of the four times I did see it and feel especially lucky that I was there for the Lincoln Center archives taping.
Surprising and very sad !! Already had my 10/31 stage seat--- Just managed to get Orch N for the last show.
Best of luck to the entire cast and crew !!!
We love you !!!

When Jeff called to tell me the news last night, I was devastated. My question is, the numbers post-Whoopie weren't all that bad -- certainly better than some of the numbers back in January and February. What was the final rationale for closing the show now? I had assumed that when the major players' contracts terminated in January, that would be it. This seems so incredibly unfair.
This is no way to start my day!
Very sad to hear this. I consider myself very lucky to have experienced this show and cast.
My advice to everyone out there that was even thinking about going, do yourself a favor and go and see this show before it closes. You will not be sorry.
Did anybody tell Chubby?
This is an awful way to start the day, finding out about this. I must run and see it again.
