Hasn't the Regé-Jean Page moment kind of passed?

I’d argue the Gatsby moment has also passed.

So because "His moment has passed", he can't work and do a play in London? He has done theatre there in the past and splits his time there. And the musical did a limited run there from what I read. You all act like there are Gatsby productions playing everywhere. Don't go see them if their "moments have passed". JMO

Since Gatsby is in the public domain now, I'm surprised we're just getting straightforward adaptations and not wackier takes and deconstructions and the like.

" You all act like there are Gatsby productions playing everywhere"
Well in London alone we had the Gatsby immersive experience and musical that felt relatively recent, so I can see how it seems a bit over exposed.

I can see that. I don't follow London theater closely. I guess it's just the negativity that gets tiring to read!

Now this would be a fun subejct to brainstorm after a few cocktails.

I mean, this is at least the third major Gatsby theatrical adaptation that has happened in the last couple years, to say nothing of the immersive experiences.

I mean, they are, kind of.
And this board is all “JMO,” so you don’t need to snipe at people voicing theirs and try to sugar coat it by adding JMO at the end of the statement.

If you have read my comments over the years, I usually put JMO at the end of my comments. I don't sugar coat things whether you think I do or not.

Please don't give anyone any ideas.

What irks me about all these productions is that I don't think they have anything to do with some great love for the book--a genuine classic, if unfortunately no longer appealing to a lot of readers--it's just the exploitation of an IP.
