Can't say i'm surprised. I really liked some of the music but I was just bored most of the time.

Sad for the show. Hopefully Tom Hewitt will rejoin Amazing Grace
it had its 2nd best grossing week last week...oh well. Unsure why they opened this big mess to begin with.

This was a given. Still don't know who thought this would be a good idea....
Always sucks when a show closes and people lose their jobs. The show wasn't good though, but the costumes were stunning.
Another notch on their gun butts
Now we can have Frozen .Wheee. The moral is do not try something heavy. Go for the lowest common denominator and Frozen is it.
I wonder if Cameron Mackintosh already has his eye on the Broadway Theatre for Miss Saigon...
Roxy, the problem is not being heavy; it's being bad. This show was bad; lots of other shows that are seeking the least common denominator fail (e.g., Honeymoon). And a show can be serious and succeed beyond all measures (e.g. hamilton). The most important rule in the theatre is that there are no rules, and when we try to make up rules, they never hold water.
A notch for whom? Regardless of the critics, people just weren't interested. The critics didn't like Neverland either, and that's pulling in over a million bucks a week.
Roxy is going to keep pushing his narrative no matter what happens.
This show had terrible word of mouth from the first preview. I know no one who has seen it and left with anything resembling fondness for it- even before the pans.
The critics didn't like Neverland either, and that's pulling in over a million bucks a week.
The difference there is the fact that Finding Neverland is not only critic-proof, but also some aggressive marketing because of Harvey Weinstein.

Despite what has been said previously, scratch the cast album.
Another show closes prematurely. That's life. On to the next one.
The critics cannot like it and I get it. They just relentlessly poured on the viciousness. What they did was not do was offer constructive criticism. It was pure unadulterated vicious hatred above and beyond the pale. I see a show and if it runs fine.If not,as they say in French Cest la vie .

So sad it's closing. I hope this doesn't mean there won't be a cast album. I was really looking forward to a nice recording of the music.
How can you want a cast album?.After all, the critics said it was pure unadulterated crap.

The cast album will be made. Regardless of the show's closing.

Has Roxy seen Fun Home? That's not exactly light entertainment. Of course he has no interest because it's selling.
I feel like Roxy's keyboard has not letters, but stock words and phrases.

What were those called? Macros? Where he just hits a series of f keys in any order?

Call me crazy but i really like the music I've heard from Doctor Z. I like to think I have good taste mostly but my guilty pleasure is Wildhorn and this show sort of reminds me of Wildhorn. Glad to hear a cast album will be made. Hopefully a vocal selections book comes out as well.
It's not a critic's job to offer constructive criticism. And you keep saying you don't care and will just move on....but you never do.
Wasn't only a few months ago that Roxy swore he and the Missus were done with theater?

I actually enjoyed some of the music too. I wish it had a bit more russian influence since it felt like music I've heard before. However, I really enjoy the 'easy on the ears' melodies with strings and gorgeous singing.
Wildhorn? Oh the shame of admitting you like his music. To like his music means you have no taste and are a uneducated theater goer. Get with the program. Profess your hatred of this untalented hack so you can be let back into the good graces of the Broadway elite.
