Oh much agreed, but my guess is that it's because he only just broke into "broadway" when he's been doing mostly screen work for most of his career up until now...more or less. SLM was only his second broadway, First Date was his first one, show, but I really do think SLM was great stepping stone to solidifying him as a Broadway leading man in the future. I want him as Herc when Hercules finally comes....

One reason Zachary Levi isn't doing more Broadway is that he's in demand for TV and film. He did the ''Sunday in the Park With George,'' starring Jake Gyllenhaal, last fall for a weekend at City Center, but did not move with it to Broadway, because he had other commitments. He's been filming ''Psych: The Movie,'' and his IMDB file says five of his projects are in post-production. Plus, he just hosted Syfy's on-air coverage of the San Diego ComicCon.
I was fortunate to interview Levi when he was doing ''First Date'' and ''She Loves Me,'' and he definitely loves being on Broadway. I imagine when his schedule has an opening, he'll be back.

I was surprised when he was tapped to do She Loves Me even. Josh Radnor was the one who was announced for the longest time, Levi was a last minute replacement if I remember correctly. Don't get me wrong, Zachary was great, but it seems that Broadway is saturated with people who can easily replace or be the first choice over him for the type of roles he plays. I personally thought he could be great in The Music Man but I doubt any producer would pump money into that. He's not a "name" yet.

I really enjoyed his performance in She Loves Me, but he jumped even higher on my list when I saw how he interacted with people at the stage door. Just put a smile on everyone's faces. He earned a spot on my list of people I will make an effort to see in anything they do now.

He got a role in "Young Frankenstein" on Broadway but was offered the TV show "Chuck" too, which he took instead. (source)
Interested on where his career would have gone if he did do "Young Frankenstein".

I saw She Loves Me from front row center and it was epic to see him and the rest of the cast from so up close. If they ever make a Tangled musical, they need to cast him and Donna Murphy (obviously) in their original roles!

I'd say Levi is more of a name now than, say, Craig Bierko was, when Bierko headed the 2000 revival of ''The Music Man'' on Broadway. (FYI: Levi's Twitter feed has 627,000 followers; Bierko's, 46,000.)

I've been covering Broadway for many years; no one works the stage door as generously as Levi. He turns it into a party by blasting music. He takes time to sign every Playbill, chat with folks and take photos.

Meantime, Levi's made the ''Tangled'' animated TV series.

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, which Roger Bart wound up playing. Levi made the right choice for his career. ''Chuck'' ran for 5 seasons on NBC, earning him the fanbase he has (and a few awards, too).

I last saw him in TV show "Unreal" on the Lifetime network.
As for Zachary Levi, he's not doing much right now except for doing the convention circuit. This weekend you can find him at the Salt Lake Comic Con, where for $90 you can get a photo op with him.
He also recently moved from California to Austin, TX.

He was cast as Frederick Frankenstein, if that is what you are wondering.

He did Matilda for five seconds in 2013 (which I saw). Officially he started late and left a couple weeks into his run because of a "shoulder injury", and was supposedly coming back to the role at a later date. Since that didn't happen, I think he and the production realized he was ultimately miscast, and allowed him to leave the show quietly.
