Cannot speak for Toxic, but for August....
NO!!! unless your ok with a 12 year seeing a show with heavy swearing, and themes of drugs,pedophilia , incest, and well, just NO!

Depends on the 12 year old....but doubtful to either. I think of my almost 13 year old and while she would "understand" both, I don't think they are quite appropriate for her.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I thought the toxic avenger was fine. There were kids (younger than 12) in the audiece when I saw it, and they seemed to like it.

I'm with Muscle on this one. And not only here, but in several other threads. I'm on a few different message boards for different topics, and all of them have some grammar/spelling nazis on them. But never have I seen anyone take it to the rudeness level that I see here. You aren't just correcting, you are insulting. Guess what? Not everyone has the same education, the same background, or the same OCD level that you do. Perhaps for some of these people, English isn't their first language. Or maybe they don't write as well as they talk. Or maybe they just aren't as concerned with having a proofreader edit every word of a simple, straight-forward message board post. The poster asked a question, hoping for a helpful answer. Maybe it wasn't Funk & Wagnall's perfect, but did anyone have any problem understanding what was meant? So answer the question if you can help! If not, maybe it is best that you don't bother replying at all. And if you really feel that you have to correct someone, you can do so politely, without attacking the individual. These boards are supposed to be fun and helpful. People like you keep that from happening, and drive people away who don't want to be bothered. I know you guys aren't trolls, because I've seen posts from you that were intellegent and well thought out. But it took me a while to realize that because posts like this were what I first saw, and had both blaxx and millie labeled as trolls until I read further into the boards. So maybe you think you are just being witty and showing off how "intellegent" you are. It's not working. You come off as obnoxious and egotistical, and make people like me disregard anything else you have to say.
Sorry to those people on the thread who acted in an appropriate manner and tried to be helpful to the poster. This rant was not meant for you.

Our messages usually keep them away for good.

When I saw The Toxic Avenger about 10 minutes in a guy got up and walked out with his son and daughter. They looked a lot older than 12.
