A couple of weeks ago, Gary Sinise walking down 44th St.
Gary Beach I see all the time!
Wednesday night, at Chicago:
Sally Field and guest, sitting in her seat during intermission, nicely indulging the people asking for autographs while trying to stay low-key. She was offered to be taken somewhere else during intermission, but she declined. Class act!
Then there's John Travolta and Kelly Preston, who I believe sat in front of Sally at the same show. Silence as he was escorted in before the start of the show, the whole audience turned and looked. Then, at intermission, he was rushed out, totally distracting the applause at the end of act one. As intermission ended, as the ensemble made their entrance before the entracte, John and Kelly were escorted back...so there was nary any applause for the ensemble. So of course, me being the theatrefag first row center, I start applauding really loud and raising my hands above my head to get some attention back towards the stage.
Damn you, Travolta! On another note, I was thinking...Kelly Preston would be a great Roxie!
Also that night, Barrett Foa and Celia Keenan-Bolger (and someone else I couldn't see), at Thalia post-show.
