Based entirely on book, score and characters, I'd say AVENUE Q or CHICAGO.

Posted: 1/8/07 at 12:17pmIn terms of perfection of book, score, and direction, I'd have to say CHICAGO...there's a reason its been running so long. I saw it a couple of weeks ago with utterly crappy actors in the leads and it still played like gangbusters. Foolproof.

Avenue Q will always be my favorite but I also adore:
Spring Awakening
Hairspray
Grey Gardens
Spelling Bee
A Chorus Line and Company
Forbidden Broadway is my favorite Off Broadway show of all time!
PS Jay Johnson The Two And Only was my favorite new show this year. I was heartbroken when it closed. Hope they can change the name of the show and bring it back to NYC. It was fantastic!

Avenue Q and Butley (I really liked it. And not just because Nathan Lane was in it.)

Posted: 1/10/07 at 2:34amLes Miserables.... I like alot of other shows that are out, but I don't like the current casts ( i.e. Wicked, Company) so Les Mis wins for the best combo of show and cast.
