I'm thinking the producers of "Two Strangers Carry a Cake........" were wise to open this fall. Gives them some time to find an audience with little competition from other New Musicals and build buzz for awards season much like Maybe Happy Ending.
Too bad their theater is jinxed :)

after attending the show (which I LOVED for what it's worth....), I hate to admit that the rooftop scene works much better 'on paper'. After you spend about an hour enthralled by the AMAZING atmosphere of the Paris Opera that Masquerade created, it's quite jarring to be taken outside on the roof just to be reminded that you're still in New York surrounded by modern skyscrapers and hearing the taxis honk.

Just finished reading it last night, as I wanted to re-visit the previous 8 books first. I really enjoyed it, but as with the previous 2 books, I found too much focus on newer characters, and too many missed opportunities for a bigger reunion of the central ones. Mary Ann has maybe 15 pages? DeDe and Dorothea are mentioned in passing, but have nothing at all to do with the story? Anna has a 'feeling' about Michael, and chases tail to get there, but she just missed him and Ben? Truly this ca

I too really missed the opening video and entrance -- my favorite part of seeing the show live, and I hated not seeing it again. It's also unforgivable that the entire first verse of "Dance in the Dark" was cut..... if they needed to trim anything, they should have edited "Teeth" which went on and on far too long. It's also a shame that the piano did not go up in flames, and a few of the pyrotechnics in "Alejandro" were cut (thou I underst
