I imagine Real Women Have Curves will give their Tonys performance a moment to catch before pulling the plug since that's such a significant chunk of change. I don't think it was a particularly strong number, so doubt it moved the needle. I imagine Sunset and Gypsy easily had the best sales nights last night. The original musicals chose odd numbers. Or numbers that read oddly in the space/on TV.
If I had to guess it'll be Smash that folds first.

Real Women and BOOP will be gone by June 29. Smash will be gone by Labor Day. Dead Outlaw is my mystery show only because it's somewhat inexpensive to run.

Was it necessary to make a new thread of this?
We’ve had this conversation in the respective show threads, but this is really kinda disheartening to see.

Among the ineligible shows and longer-runners, has anyone else heard the rumor that SIX might close at the end of 2025, then transfer to New World Stages soon after?

Saw a performance of "Real Women Have Curves" on a morning show that left me not wanting to see it. Their performance last night made me want to buy a ticket.

Thank you. Sheesh. Are the vultures this hungry for carrion? Eagerly waiting who'll be out of work soon is ghoulish as hell.

Thanks for posting. It never ceases to amaze me how a board of supposed theatre fans continuously salivate with glee in anticipation of closing notices. Same story every single year.

I feel like that has been rumored forever. But it wouldn't surprise me to see it happen at some point.

Agree. Why anyone would be happy over others unemployment is bizarre behavior.

Floyd Collins has always been a limited run (and Ragtime is already announced to come in), so not sure why that would be included in a list of shows to post closing after Tonys.

DrMonicaDeMoneco wants another chance to guess that Just in Time will close right after the Tonys.

gurl, please. No one is happy anyone is out of work. So, stop with that nonsense. However, shows not doing well post Tony’s usually cut their losses and post a closing notice. Me, as well as many others, are curious to see who throws in the towel.

Agree. Makes me wonder if some people here even like Broadway shows. Strange folks.

I just hope Tobacco Road is still playing the Hippodrome when I get to NYC in the Fall.

I never celebrate shows closing, but there are plenty of periods in my life where I don’t have the time/opportunity to catch up on each individual show’s thread. I appreciate the condensed source of information - apparently it’s of enough shared interest to be discussed in their individual threads, it sounds.
Assuming we have similar intentions, I appreciate you creating this thread and am hoping we don’t have a genuine reason to use it for a bit.

Good point. Maybe instead of "deathwatch", call it "shows you should prioritize seeing as quickly as possible." (I don't think anyone is celebrating people being unemployed, but the title of this thread is in somewhat poor taste).

Agreed that using the word "deathwatch" is maybe not a great choice.
But speculating on show's chances of survival and discussing it is not the same as rooting for them to fail (yes I know a few trolls have it out for certain shows but I'm speaking broadly).

I don't have an issue with the thread either, albeit the title is a bit harsh.
No one is betting or rooting or even giggling on the inevitable. But it is part of the biz. If the subject tois too sensitive for you, don't open the thread.
