re: Gypsy 2008 Broadway Cast Recording
 Aug 21 2008, 07:26:16 AM
Just so you know... you can get a (legal) copy of this recording in front of the St.James shortly before the show begins, even if you are not seeing the show. (I got mine this Tuesday when I saw the show, BTW)
re: Riedel: 'MAMMA MIA!' MANIA - Island Abuzz As Movie Is Set To Debut
 Jul 9 2008, 08:01:12 AM
Cute column, although I found it disturbing that Craymor "insisted that all the creators and designers of the musical work on the movie". :x

Still, I have no doubt this will be a huge worldwide hit. In Korea, for example, Mamma Mia the musical was so popular that it was revived at least three times, and even people who don't really care much about musical theater in general know what Mamma Mia is about.

I have to second 'Good Morning Baltimore' from Hairspray. <3
re: broadway.com MAJOR error (SOOOO FUNNY)

Hahahaha!! This is the funniest thing I've seen on BWW since the '[tos] goes to Tonys' video.
re: Mamma Mia Movie Reviews?

Short worrell4077: OMG DARK KNIGHT IS AWESOMEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, your shilling for TDK in every single Mamma Mia thread here is beyond lame. I hope you're at least getting paid for doing it, 'cuz otherwise you'd be one sad person.

re: [title of show] goes to the Tony After-Parties.

Not only was it a funny video, but it actually made me want to see [tos] (which I know nothing about).
re: Tony Nominees Are... (from the official website)
 May 13 2008, 08:37:36 AM
If I'm counting it right, South Pacific got 11 noms and Sunday got 9 noms. This is indeed the year of revivals!

edit: oh, and In The Height has 13 noms, Gypsy 7 noms. But don't quote me on these figures. :P

Full Tony Nominations Out! (from the official website)
 May 13 2008, 08:24:09 AM
I apologize if it has already been posted, but the Tony website already has the full list of nominees:

http://www.tonyawards.com/en_US/nominees/index.html

UPDATE: the list is down. It seems that whoever in charge of the website put the list up by accident and realized it just now, lol. Check out the BWW list instead:

re: 'Mamma Mia' Soundtrack Release Date?

I'm looking forward to this one. I can't stand the computerized garbage that is the London version.

Wow, nice updates!!! Thank you so much.
re: When will the next production of AIDA be?

Any movie featuring tons of Efron's shirtlessness is good in my book.
re: Laura Bell Bundy Gets Sardi's Caricature

"I think Laura is beautiful and that drawing does not look a thing like her."

ditto. I mean, wtf?

But still, congrats to LBB!

re: Ben Brantley actually got a hat to eat
 Apr 29 2008, 10:06:58 AM
bertandrew2, I couldn't care less whether you like Patti Lupone or not. Hell, I don't even know much about Patti.

I called you (and your friends) a sore loser because of your unhealthy obsession with Patti. You apparently have to say something nasty about Patti in every single ****ing thread about her. This thread, for example, was not about her performance, and yet you still had something bitchy to say about her.

Even as a casual lurker on this board I fully know that you'

Now, if A Director posts something moronic here, the trip of sore losers (the other two being bertandrew2 and BKCollector) on BWW will all have graced this thread.

re: JACKIE HOFFMAN KISSED A SOLDIER-IN-TRAINING ONSTAGE TONIGHT

"Is that legal?"

Eh, is there a law against underage kissing in the U.S?

re: When did they add the 'Works every time!' to Bend and Snap?
 Dec 6 2007, 09:34:12 AM
Wow, thank you so much, Anakela! I think I will replace all songs with the official versions except for What You Want. The dance segment in What You Want is one of my favorite moments from the show.
re: When did they add the 'Works every time!' to Bend and Snap?
 Dec 6 2007, 05:17:01 AM
While we're at it, are there any other differences between the official and the leaked version? I have the official CD but I've downloaded the leaked version (I couldn't wait, lol) which is on my iTunes now, so I'm wondering if I should bother replacing it with the official one.
re: Video of Annaleigh Ashford Singing 'Popular'
 Nov 9 2007, 10:41:42 PM
Wow, Annaleigh's voice is much stronger than I thought. She did walk through it, but I'll reserve my judgement until I actually see her in the show.
re: OMIGOD YOU GUYS!: Clumsy LOVES Noah-Emmett and Stage Mishaps: Legally B
 Nov 9 2007, 08:11:33 PM
And during the scene after Blood In The Water where Emmett tells Elle her law career isn't over: Laura said "Thats no problem, except there weren't enough seats in there..."

Hahaha!! I love how Laura handles stage mishaps. Her throwing shoes was brilliant but this is even better.
