Re: Falsettos Reunion - Any chance it will be recovered?

Nov 3, 2026 — 8:48:03 AM

Saw this last night and am still on a high from it. Forgot how absolutely terrific that score is. Every cast member was vocally amazing. Was surprised by how young the audience was -- so many teens and twenty-something. And the applause and cheers were absolutely deafening. Just really well done all around.

Re: Donald Trump Takes Over the Kennedy Center

I think they are all reasonable, deserving nominees. But clearly there is also a Trump/republican friendly requirement for induction now. Anka is apolitical but is a longtime friend of Trump, Andy Garcia is longtime conservative repub, Mamet very publicly changed from liberal dem to conservative repub and has been a big trump supporter. No clue about Mandrell and Foster. I note that under Trump there are no ballet dancers or classical musicians anymore. It is really disgusting how Trump has p...

I will say that October in Ogunquit is a gorgeous time of the year. And the playhouse is just a lovely theater. May be worth a trip....

Re: Les Mis at Radio City - Anyone going?

Aug 1, 2026 — 2:07:25 PM

saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Boe was fantastic and Jaden was equally fantastic. Overall i thought the casting was great (although the girl who plays Eponine does this distracting squinting thing...), the voices soared. The show filled the huge room visually and sonically. It was great to hear the score sung live with such great voices. The audience was really into it.

Playbill: RENT Will Get a Majority Neurodiverse, Disabled Revival Off-Broadway

Apr 18, 2026 — 11:32:23 AM

this is a wonderful theater group for neurodiverse individuals...in addition to the performers there are lots of participants on the tech and backstage side. They have a west coast group too. Epicplayersnyc.org.....it is a wonderful organization. I am surprised that this is getting so much negativity here. I think the playbill headline is a bit misleading, referring to it as an "off broadway revival"...this group does various performances of various kinds during the year. I know someone invol...

Pink to Host the 2026 Tony Awards

Apr 12, 2026 — 1:40:53 PM

Pink is one devoted mama moving to NYC so her daughter can be closer to bway and pursue her dreams. And good for Pink for making an effort to jump into the bway community and bring more attention to the Tony's (which she certainly will). A couple of her songs are already in bway shows, and her tours are super theatrical. I think it is a fun choice and hopefully will bring new eyeballs to the broadcast

How Bad Will the Kennedy Center Honors Be

LES MIS -> Radio City, SUPERSTAR Next?

Nov 11, 2025 — 12:33:28 PM

i think this would just be a 3-4 night engagement -- semi-staged Hollywood Bowl concert version.

LES MIS -> Radio City, SUPERSTAR Next?

Nov 10, 2025 — 5:22:36 PM

I would give my left arm to see the Bowl production at Radio City. I know ALW was musing about MSG but I think 3-4 nights at Radio City makes much more sense. The production would glow in that venue.

Hugh Jackman to hold 12-performance concert series at Radio City Music Hall

Aug 19, 2025 — 11:45:09 AM

i saw the show a few months ago and it was ....just ok. Agree that his voice is shot...it just was no longer pleasing to my ear if that makes sense. I kinda thought he was swallowed up by the radio city stage, which was a surprise bc he is a really charismatic performer. I loved his one man show on bway years ago. Maybe he just does better in a more intimate setting. IDK.

How many of the following actions can be used in reference to Donald Trump (extra points if you can name the author and the source material)?- He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome a

How'd Cabaret and Sunset Lose So Much $?

Aug 14, 2025 — 4:27:26 PM

I saw Cabaret with Lambert and Cravalho and really enjoyed it...but I remember walking around the theater thinking holy **** what is the daily cash burn rate of this show. So much staff, so many pre show dancers and musicians...just tremendously expensive.

How Bad Will the Kennedy Center Honors Be

as with everything T, I fear that the show will devolve into all of the artists genuflecting before him, and less focus on the artists themselves.
