Eileen Davidson does have 2 Daytime Emmys and Candiace has a bunch of TV credits so all is not entirely lost.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

It'll be a disaster and bring out all of the trash to see this.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Rumors is Neil Simon at his most slapstick, so the play is already largely nonsensical and appropriate for a group of clowns. Most of these women have little to no acting experience, however, so the actors playing their husbands are going to have some heavy lifting to do.

Hardly, plus their target audience are the ones who have kept many Broadway shows running. I personally don’t watch any of that reality show nonsense but I’m wise enough to know the rationalization of casting one of these dingbats in a Broadway show. Regardless what the reviews will say, this will enjoy a successful sold-out run and heck, possibly extend with new cast members.

Ya'll are really a bunch of elitist snobs. You don't have to go see it if you want to avoid the "trash." Never mind the fact that "trash" has been, as Brody mentioned, a key growing audience base for theater. The people seeing the likes of Ariana Madix and the like are generally people who have never seen a piece of theater before. We should be encouraging MORE people to see and enjoy theater, not fewer.

If there are people we need less of, it's those that have decided theater is only for the select few.

Lisa Rinna is a 4-time Emmy nominee, has been on Broadway before and is returning alongside the likes of Megan Hilty, Andrew Rannells and Tituss. Eileen Davidson has 2 Emmy awards and multiple other nominations. Candiace has done several scripted TV roles.

It's clear there's an angle to the production (and it's Equity!) that makes an entire cast of housewives appropriate. So. Simmer down.

In theory I should be against something like this, but clearly there is a specific gimmick/vision to this production which makes it stand out, and it's not like they are doing a production of like, Tennessee Williams or Shakespeare. Some of these women are actual actresses, whether or not one views them as being worthy of being on a NY stage is a different matter.

Great play. Very funny but ...

I'm assuming they play the "wives" - Chris, Claire, Cookie and Cassie (and probably rotate more "housewives".

Livingston isn't a great director without Rauch's ideas in play / guiding. Chicken & Biscuits was mid, if that.

The play is slapstick fun. Hopefully they hire good men to hold it down.

Not all of the housewives will be appearing at the same time, so I assume they will cast males in the traditional roles.

I just know RUMORS to be a tightly constructed farce that will succeed or flop based on energy, skill, and commitment to the bit. Considering the general lack of acting experience, I worry this will crater because of the learning curve. Also, that’s a LOTTA woman to handle, but considering the director just won a Tony for wrangling 30 cats from diverse cultural and artistic backgrounds, that is where I have the most faith.
