re: Chess From Royal Albert Hall - Review Jun 22 2009, 04:16:49 AM
Could someone please explain the story in a nutshell? I, like many others no doubt, was really confused at what was happening in this version, especially after watching the Actors Benefit version. And I think the love story between Anatoly and Florence had so much potential, but they didn't have enough intimate scenes (also the kiss was cut because the Queen was there?!) to make it affecting. And yeah they could have cut out so much of the dancing and Merano choir to make room for thi

The Singing Stage! (via Man in Chair) May 20 2008, 10:10:56 PM
from maninchair.com "OMG…Guess what I’m waiting to finish downloading right now as I type this post… Star Wars, The Musical ! Can’t wait to put it on my mp3 player and go running tomorrow. I found this completely random little piece by way of an email from sarahb of Adventures in the Endless Pursuit of Entertainment, who got it from Robert of Little Voice. The URL for the site is http://www.thesingingstage.com and on it you will find a gazillion random concept albums, cast albums from around the planet (Norwegian cast of A Chorus Line, anyone?) and soundboards (an unreleased audio recording of a show made by connecting a recording device directly to the soundboard) from a zillion different shows. Like most sites that allow downloads of huge files like these, you can either download them for free, with the drawback of having to wait two minutes for a “download ticket” and having to wait, like an hour and a half between downloads, or you can upgrade to a premium membership and get things done a lot faster. I’ll let you know how Star Wars is, but in the mean time, get on over to The Singing Stage and start downloading!" eeee they have the 2003 Actor's Fund Concert of Chess for download, as well as its other cast albums. and a million versions of Les Miserables and Phantom. sorry if this was posted before

Raul Esparza to be back on Pushing Daisies! Mar 17 2008, 09:22:14 PM
From Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller at the Paley Fest panel: Question asked: WILL RAUL ESPARZA BE BACK AS OLIVE’S LOVE INTEREST? BF: "We love him and his relationship with Kristin’s character. It would be a crime not to (have them sing together)." Yay their going to SING! It's going to be awesome:) Wish we didn't have to wait so long for the show to come back. English translation: The world was empty Filled with shadow The light never arrived Clara, the light in the piazza Clara, my light, my heart Now that I am awake I won’t go back to shadow I never felt myself to be lonely Missing the essence of being alive But that’s how it was Clara Clara Clara, my light, my heart The essence I was missing is you Your light fills me But she won’t love me Not like I am Oh Clara She won’t love a little boy She cannot love a little boy God Father I was sleeping I didn’t know I was alone Alone in the dark obscurity Not even alive There was no Clara But now your light fills me But she won’t love me Not like I am Oh Clara She won’t love a little boy She cannot love a little boy God! re: Daniel Evans Broadway.com Q&A Mar 11 2008, 06:11:49 PM
I just remember seeing Daniel in BBC's Daniel Deronda with Hugh Dancy and Romola Garai, and I cannot believe he has come to Broadway! It's a huge difference in character- I just wish he sang in it now (even Dancy and Garai did!). Congrats on his success in Sunday!

re: Happy 10th anniversary, Ragtime Jan 20 2008, 12:06:25 AM
"Back to Before" is certainly a memorable tune, and when I saw Mazzie perform the song in November (a Ahrens and Flaherty musical revue) it just blew me away. That woman can sing!
