Now, now, trash...that makes you no better than the original poster.
See, you're getting it already!
I hate to ever say someone will be better than another, just different and will bring a freshness to a role. Richard ALWAYS does just that. He will be great and Greg will be missed!
I second that iluvtheatertrash.
Exclamation point overload!!!!! Just one will suffice.
Greg will be deeply missed. He's so kind to his fans.

I've every confidence that Richard Kind will do spendidly in the role. As for whether he'll be "better" than Greg ... well, that is partly a matter of individual opinion as well as, certainly at this time, speculation.
I'm not sure that after Kind takes over the role, if anyone will then honestly be able to say, overall, if one of the two are "better" in the role than the other. They're two very different performers, and Kind isn't going to play the role the same way Greg has.
Greg has the advantage of being remembered as the one who created the role for stage (and remembered positively, I believe, by most people who have seen him). Richard has a different sort of advantage, which is that he will be bringing a new, fresh take on the role.
For instance, I enjoyed seeing John Lithgow as "Lawrence" at opening, and now I'm looking forward to seeing a performance with Pryce in that role. I expect I will find things, though different, that I enjoy about Pryce's performance.
There certainly may be many future show attendees who will find Kind's take on the role of "André" more to their liking.
Bottom line is, Jbara and Kind are both fine performers. DRS was fortunate to have someone of Greg's caliber in the role, and now it's fortunate to have a replacement of such caliber as Kind.

It's ironic that this thread involves the two most underrated actors in the theatre!
A pointless post. Greg did a fabulous job, but Richard will have another take on it. Richard would look silly trying to immitate Greg, so he'll bring his own take to the role. Different, yes... better, that remains to be seen and is a major matter of opinion and personal preference. Let's wait until Richard goes on.

Ok! I understand what everyone is saying! I will miss Greg, he was perfect in the role, he has a special place in my heart and no one can top the way he did Andre! But what i was saying was I look forward on seeing Richard in the role. He will put a new spin and that's why i think he'll be better. Now, I understand that if the show runs for several more years there will be new Andres and they will be good! But Richard is more to my liking basicly because he's one of my fav actors! There's no reason to fight over it and make stupid comments!
One more thing: Please post links to these "stalker" threads! Because I don't believe I ever said anything like "Does anyone know where this person lives so I can go to their house and ask them to watch a DVD with me and we'll sleep over at each others house and have a pillow fight?" psh!
"I will miss Greg, he was perfect in the role"
If he was perfect, why will Richard Kind be better? Just asking...
Dude, you're making a fool of yourself. Give it a rest.

I just feel he will be. I didn't mean to say that Greg sucked or anything I was just saying he's going to be better because he's gonna put a new spin on it! And then after I see him I know I'm gonna go back to thinking that no one is as good as Greg! Because I'm just saying it's gonna be fun!
It's fine to think that Richard will be great in the role. I think he'll be fantastic. But try not to be so petty about it as to say that he'll be 'better'. It only sounds disrespectful.

Oh! and also if you search, there are posts just like this about how Barrett Foa is gonna be better than Jesse in Spelling Bee!

I really didn't mean to put better. I meant to put great but it's to late for that now isn't it?
You didn't mean to? So you meant to say "Richard Kind will be great than Greg Jbara"?
Major head to desk moment!
