Oh, crap. I have too expensive tickets for this Sunday. I'll cry if he's out. Hope he's ok, though. The night before the Tony voting deadline is unfortunate timing to have to miss.

I know, but they're stubhub tickets with a face value way, way below what I paid for them and about half what comparable tickets are selling for now at the box office, so any exchange for comparable seats is going to make the cost of these tickets comparable to the first five rows for Barbra. I was banking on Ben not missing anything until after the Tonys.
All joking aside, glad to hear he's taking the time off he needs to heal.
"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
When you heavily campaign for a Tony and are the face of a musical, you're gonna get "hate" from overly eager theatre-goers. I'm sure his Tony award will make up for it.
Perhaps they should implement an alternate schedule?

This is Alice Ripley in n2n all over again. The role is going to destroy his voice. Be careful Ben!
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
^What I was thinking....let's not get overly dramatic.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
According to Telecharge, Ben will be out tomorrow, Sunday, 6/25/17, at 3:00 p.m. I'm assuming this is because of the special performance at 8:00 p.m. to benefit The Actors Fund.
