I will definetly fly into NY when it arrives, to see it. I saw the original cast on Broadway and loved it. I have yet to hear if Sondheim has seen it and if he liked it. This version looks great.
I think I heard that he did see it in London and that he liked it...maybe read that at ATC?
well, the guy playing Anthony is kinda cute...
...yeah, he was cute. And he did a great version of "Johanna." We is talkin' swoon material...:)
After having been extended for three weeks, this production will close on Saturday, Feb. 5th.
It got some pretty good reviews but I've not heard what Sondheim thought about it.
THE EVENING STANDARD: "As sharp as ever...The versatility on offer is spectacular.."
THE INDEPENDENT: "Wonderfully fresh and fierce small-scale version."
THE GUARDIAN: "strong on melodramatic horror, low on social resonance."
DAILY TELEGRAPH: "Superbly inventive staging."
THE TIMES: "Theatrical originality and a successful awakening of the audience’s imaginations."

This show looks so good. It is still a little hard to imagine-but I can't wait to see it.
hmmm... I wonder if PSClassics will record it. delicious.
Looks fantastic.
So it is supposed to be heading for NYC?
Can't wait.....$100 to hear amateur musicians play one of Sondheim's more intricate scores.
Stop being so pessimistic, who know's they might suprise you. Just wait before passing judgement.
It put me in the mind of the 1998 Revival of Cabaret, in that it was so gritty and kinda had a "gothic" looking. Anyone else get this impression?
