About friggin' time. What, did that show think its business was gonna improve. I was afraid it was gonna stay on Broadway for another decade thinking business would pick up. It overstayed its welcome. Even Lennon and In My Life took the hint and packed up.

I'm not surprised. It was only a matter of time, with the awful numbers they were pulling in. Best of luck to the cast and crew.

i STILL wish i would have had the chance to see the show. i feel bad for the dancers and the young girl, hopefully they will be employed somewhere else quickly.
A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it,
but all she really dreams is to make someone
else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer.
And that is so beautiful-Anonymous
while i'm never happy to see friends out of work, i'm glad to see the show is packing up. in my opinion, that show did not belong ANYWHERE near broadway.
the dancers will work again. everyone had to know it was coming...i mean, unless you're completely delusional, it's pretty obvious your show is doing poorly when your audiences are at 30% for weeks on end.

Yup, it's closing. So now all you out of work actors can find something else to bitch about. I can understand not liking a show. Hot Feet had obvious flaws, but the anger and sentiment. And the angriest ones have to be from people who have never had a gig in theater. They just know everything. Good luck to the cast and crew.

Wrong.
They just know everything.
Right about that.

I saw it last night (free tickets). I enjoyed the first act more than I thought I would...but the second act just collapsed the whole show.
Maybe having low expectations was a good thing going in (plus drinks at Barrage pre-show helped too).
The audience seemed to love it. I did not like the music being sung off-stage for most of the time...the only ones who sang where the parents.
And that story - jeez! Take '42nd Street' 'Imitation of Life' and 'The Red Shoes' - put them in a blender...sprinkle with some catalog songs and volia - a show!!!
My mother always used to say, "The older you get, the better you get, unless you're a banana." - Rose Nyland
hardly shady at all....merely a comment on a bad show. doesn't matter if i have friends in it or not. i was happy my friends had work, but i'm not going to like a bad show just because of the fact my friends are in it.
besides....my friends are wonderfully talented people doing the best they can with the material they were given. i respect that!

Good luck to everyone involved in this show, musicians - -singers - - dancers - - crew. I enjoyed it, they all at least had a chance to practice their craft and work for a few months.
