What a beautiful person...makes one eager to get to the Broadhurst!
What a treat! Can't wait to see her.
She is fierce! I'll definitely be making a return visit.

She's SO humble!
I love her and will totally fork out full price for a good seat.
Also, she's amazing.
LOVE it!
They should have hired her in the first place. She sounds great. Her acting in so layered.
she could totally still play Eponine. she still looks so young. I don't understand why she's playing Fantine...
Probably because she's moved past the role of Eponine and wants a more mature role? If I were a woman in my mid-30's with a daughter, I don't think I'd want to play the teenager in the trench coat either.

I gotta see this production!!!!!!!!!! Lea sounds great plus I get a little Norm fix.
Bump
Lea is amaaaazing. Best Broadway.com video ever in my opinion. Love the transition from rehearsal to full dress. Also, Haviland sounds great!
Wow, she sounds incredible...! I wish I could go see her, looks fantastic.
She is fantastic as always!

i love Lea and think she is a much better choice than daphne but I dont think she is naturally a Fantine. She is doing a great job but her vibe she gives off is just so young (she looks amazing she could still play eponine in my book) and her voice hasnt aged at all. I dont think eponine is so much younger than fantine but fantine should give off a more mature vibe as she has no innocence left and is a mother. I also just wish her voice was a thicker and more mature sound as we already have an eponine voice and then we have a cosette voice so we dont really have the third beautiful type of voice of fantine. its kinda like two eponines. either way i think this choice makes much more sense than daphne and she looks perfect to be cosettes mother. however i still think her natural self is just too much eponine and i dont think she should try and change completely to fit the character because she is amazing as is. o well.

Despite what Fantine has been through, she's still in her 20's. Lea's actually quite old to play her.
No, Lea's actually the right age. Most actresses who play Fantine are in their late 20's or early 30's.

Yeah, but in the novel the character's in her 20's. IIRC, Lea's in her late 30's or early 40's now.
Just my response to people saying that she seems too young for the role, heh.
SporkGoddess - Lea Salonga just turned 36 last month.
