Because you are more likely to see her understudy - like I have in three of the roles she has (supposedly) played. The last time was Moulin Rouge - no announcement beforehand, and no insert before the performance. The only indicator was the actor board in the lobby that I missed on my arrival. And before you ask it was NOT one of her two understudy's scheduled days.
I was so angry I contacted the production company who comped a ticket a few days later with a "hope" that she would be there.
CBS broadcast will start almost an hour late in my area because of the earlier Dolphins/Raiders game. Is that the case universally for everyone?

Can you not watch CBS live on Paramount Plus?
What's the plan for CBS? Show Big Brother for 5 minutes then switch to the Tonys?
Where is Karen?
She’s over it
Yes, on Paramount Plus is where Im watching both programs.

Most people think the feeling is mutual. And I already posted this but where is my hate coming from? Three understudy performances in the roles she (supposedly) played. One of them in Moulin Rouge, and no it was not a prescheduled understudy performance date.
Karen was great in Rouge. I am sorry to hear that she is not well liked by so many.

I dont think anyone hates Karen Olivo, gosh but she isnt the most well liked performer among her peers/co stars, and has made sure to come off insufferably in every media post/interview she has given. I also think the idea that she "left broadway" repeatedly makes her kinda silly-- how many performers have quietly stopped auditioning/taking calls without dramatically seeking the attention?
shes just tiring. but i've seen her give some incredible performances. not denying her talent.
I appears it will start late here on the East Coast also. Big Brother is still on
I'm sorry for those who weren't able to see it on Paramount Plus, but that was really a great telecast. The performances were strong and Audra did a wonderful job. The production value was high too especially in comparison to so many disastrous pandemic-era award shows. I didn't really care about many of the nominees/winners, I only saw Moulin Rouge of the nominated shows because I was last in the city in Summer 2019, but it was a really enjoyable watch. Looking forward to the next part!
The TONYs are delayed for....everyone?

It said it’s starting at 9:04
Really…they could not have run Big Brother on time…..now I know who won the nights competition before seeing the whole thing…….
This really is infuriating. So you force everyone to get Paramount+...then the primetime show...you don't even air live. What a disaster for the TONYs and CBS.
Read the LA Times article on Karen, and then after you throw up, you'll know why she is disliked.

Angie Schworer and Rachelle Rak! LOVE.
Started at exactly 9:03pm for me. Everyone is having a great time, the music sounds great, and Leslie is a charming host. Such fun!
Great opening. I spied Karla Garcia and Tanairi Vazquez - two of Leslie's former Hamilton castmates - in the dancers' ensemble!
Yeah, we're just getting Big Brother in Chicago. Checked on cable and on Paramout+.
Who is sitting next to Bernadette? Is it the fellow who does interviews on This web site?
Seems on Twitter half the country is stuck with Big Brother. It's like CBS is looking for a reason to axe the Tonys...
Latest update in Chicago is that it's starting at 8:54.

this is great by Leslie but (i) i cant tell who is who in teh audience as they pan to celebrities, which makes it just laugh out loud silly, and (ii) this does NOT bode well for future airing of tony telecasts, the way he said the Tony awards already happened earlier...

I love seeing Bernadette dancing and having fun in the house. So sweet.
