I never even got an Access code for Tap Dance Kid. Maybe try the usual places (Goldstar, TodayTix, TDF, etc.) to see if their prices are any lower.

TAP DANCE KID and now THE LIFE both have $25 Access25 seats (in great locations, too). ACC21

I didn't expect ITW would do discounts that severe with this cast --- or if they do, it will be way in the back.

I was really looking forward to seeing Park in the role, but still very excited for this overall! As long as Bareilles and Headley are still in, I'm good.

It had completely escaped my mind that this was happening. I was planning my May NYC trip, and suddenly realized that this would be playing when I am in town! This took my last show slot (I will also be seeing The Music Man, Plaza Suite, Funny Girl, and Take Me Out), and I am beyond excited. I LOVE Into the Woods and this cast looks incredible.

Ashley is becoming a bigger and bigger star nowadays. Also, quite the fashion icon. She will be back on Broadway someday Im sure. 

The rest of the cast is incredible and although all the good seats are gone, there are still some seats in the balcony for each performance. A few mezz too.

Regarding the empty seats--does anyone know how the view is from the front of the balcony? For some reason I felt like I have to see this so I did get a ticket but the only reasonable price for my budget was in the balcony--any reviews for those seats?

The only thing I've heard about the balcony is that the bar along the front is a bit high, which I assume is more of an issue for row A.

I sat front row balcony there for The Wild Party. The theater is very, very massive and the balcony is very far away. But, it still sounds great and you will see everything. Just from very far up and from a distance.

Just curious, but does anyone think this could transfer to Broadway? The cast sounds like a home-run to me, and I think we are overdue for a revival, regardless of how many productions there have been.

I actually tend to go for the side/front balcony whenever I’m paying full price. Yes, it’s high up, but IMO it’s the best bang for your buck at City Center. Partly because I don’t mind being far away if I have “clear air” in front of me (I.e, not having my view boxed in by an overhang, or rows and rows of heads)

I actually got a ticket earlier today. I'm very excited to see another Sondheim work since I saw Company a few weeks ago!

The only way I see it transferring is if they could transfer the cast, and they can't. Borle has Some Like It Hot in the fall, Heather has Sweet Magnolias to film (if they get a 3rd season), and Sara has Girls5Eva + whatever music projects she's working on. That's the problem with an all-star cast. Nine times out of ten they're only available for that  specific block of time.

I think to have Into the Woods successfully run on Broadway again, it has to prove itself as more than just a shadow of the original broadway show the way the 2002 revival was while not being so out there different like the Roundabout version and Central Park.

I mean that show just needs to be top to toe perfectly cast and have great chemistry within that cast for it to be really exciting for mass audiences.

I think it's high time Circle in the Square gets a crack at it. I think that show is begging to get off traditional proscenium.

But Sara Bareilles is the only one of those 3 who's actually a box office name, and who'd NEED to transfer with the show. That is, unless Sweet Magnolias is a lot more popular than I think - I've actually never heard of it, and I've been known to be oblivious to stage actors suddenly becoming famous from some TV show I missed.

Sara B is pretty much the sole reason that ticket sales are as good as they are. She was a big casting coup.

I wonder how Sara Bareilles paired with Josh Groban as the baker might sell if this made a Broadway transfer. I know the two of them already have some kind of fan base overlap, but I could still see them both doing well.

Perhaps Rachel Zegler would like to play another princess (Cinderella) after she's done playing one on screen (Disney's Snow White).

Josh Groban is not right for the Baker. The best bet would be star-casting the Witch IF it moves to Broadway and IF they want another real name alongside Sara B; the problem is any logical candidate for the Witch has been offered that part a half-dozen times between the film, Public, Regents Park, Hollywood Bowl, and various other productions.

But all this talk is premature since we haven't seen the production yet. This feels like a de ja vu of the Shakespeare in the Park talk, where there were months of rumors of it transferring to Broadway (despite poor reviews). And then it didn't.

She doesn't mean substantially more than Headley at the box office, though obviously she'd be great.

IF it gets love-letter raves at Encores and IF they transfer it, Barielles might be enough to get it to Broadway if she can commit to a long enough run. And maybe they get some sitcom guy as the Narrator/Mysterious Man (Kelsey Grammer or DHP?). But all this is truly so hypothetical at this point, and one can argue that Broadway does not NEED another Woods.

He's not right for the other Sondheim role they're stunt-casting him in this fall either, but that's never stopped the profit algorithm.
