this could work off broadway! I love it.
Reidel should play "He Who Should Not Be Named"
it could work off broadway!
They HAVE to have the original cast though. Especailly the chick that plays malfoy.
One of the problems of professional productions of the Harry Potter musical, though, is that little kids will see that there's a Harry Potter musical and want to see it. And it is not for a little kid. The original cast is brilliant, though. My favorites are Voldemort and Ron... and, for some reason, Cedric Diggory.
The only other person I could see playing Voldemort is Seth McFarlane as Stewie Griffin.
Just downloaded the cast recording, LOVE it. Some of the songs aren't that great, but the opening number, "Not Alone", and the "Voldemort is Going Down" songs are pretty catchy.
Where dd you download the recording?!
I'd want to see Hugh Panaro as Voldemort... he'd be hilarious. And disturbing. Normally, I'd say Michael Cerveris, but I'm not sure he could be quite that ridiculous.
The recording is indeed done. You can listen to a bunch of the songs on IMeem.

I think it's a very clever musical, but in no means would last in a professional setting, I think. I could be easily proven wrong. Maybe even they went on tour or something? I mean obviously it could never go to Broadway, but maybe a nice Off-Broadway limited run. Or maybe they should take it to Fringe with some revisions and go from there? I personally just think it got lucky being a really fun internet success.
I enjoy it, but I'm no Harry Potter fan. I believe they wrote another musical though--Me and My Dick. Haven't watched it yet.

Someone give us feedback on that^^
Bway? Really people? I mean it's cute and all...but I wouldn't spend more than ten bucks to ever see it live.
I Love Harry Potter, but I do agree. Going on Broadway would never work.

Rather stupidly, since I had to work in the morning, I started watching MAMD last night, not expecting much. And while a fair chunk of the vocals left something to be desired, I ended up staying up until 4:30am - it's completely hilarious and actually would work brilliantly as an off-Broadway musical, in the vein of Zanna, Don't! but obviously much filthier. The guy playing Big T has a great voice, as does Joe Walker (who played Dick - he was Voldemort in A Very Potter Musical, where his vocals were subsumed under his raspiness). Really fun, if definitely for adults...

I, as well, stayed up to watch some of it, frapperia, and would be inclined to agree. In comparison to AVPM, the vocals are not nearly as good.

There's a sequel now! Search A Very Potter Sequel on Youtube and it'll pop up. So far, it's just as good as the original!

So far the sequel's okay, but I don't really think it was necessary.
Whoa... Joe Walker is a god & I want in his pants. Now.

So I am completely late to this, stumbled across it on youtube and I have to say...it's really good! I am 40 minutes in and I've been laughing most of the time. Nice songs and funny dialogue. Can't wait to get to the sequel and senior year.
