No, La Swit isn't interested in EVITA...she's busy preparing to replace Kelly O'Hara in NICE WORK.
Has anyone think John Stamos has the inside track on being the new Che?
Ok, Plotka.. and Sonofa... whoa are your picks? Please do enlighten us!

You know, Darren Criss is not a bad idea for this production.
Carol Channing is coming back to Broadway as Evita!!!!
Kaye Ballard will do matinees.
Che is Glenn Close cause that woman can play men.
Juan Peron is Cynthia Nixon because she is still bald from Wit.
I can tell you they go into rehearsals in 2 weeks.

So who are the new leads?
I have to agree that while Elena has proved her dancing chops in this production, there doesn't seem to be any reason that an actress not as skilled in that department couldn't play the role with revised choreography. I honestly find the dancing to be the least important part of a production of Evita. Fun to watch, yes. Driving the story forward, no.
Barbara Cook will play Argentina.
THDavis, I agree 100%.
with Charro as Evita and Mitt Romney as Peron.

YES, CHARO AS EVITA!!!!!
John Cudia is the new Peron understudy and damn, can that man sing. I saw him as the Phantom two years ago and he has such a booming voice he'd be an excellent Peron replacement. Alice Ripley expressed interest in playing Eva when she had an interview with Seth Rudetsky. As for Che, I have no idea who could potentially replace Ricky Martin. I know it'll be another big name for a Box Office boost, or sustainment.

Maybe they could Margarita Pracatan as the new Evita.
It will probably be stunt cast with those who have little interest in theatre will probably say it is great and those with any interest in the theatre will say What The F***!!!

^They better stunt cast it. It won't stay open with nobodies.

Anneliese is an interesting choice, but she is committed to Arizona Theatre Company's production of "Emma" through 1/20. Would 6 days be enough to leave one production and join a Broadway show? Seems like she wouldn't have a lot of time to rehearse.
I would love love love to see John Stamos as Che. He's far from a good fit for the role but I'd sit through this production again just for him.
Carrie Underwood as Eva!
Honestly, I feel like John Stamos could kind of work. If they go with a big name, why not try to go with Naya Rivera from GLEE? She would draw little attention and is the best part of my show. I'd rather see her in KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN, but she could plausibly join the show since her character appears only every couple of episodes.
I think in this production, where Che has been directed to be pretty anemic, Stamos should be fine. I think he's been pretty successful in musicals (yes, I really liked him in Birdie) so who knows, he could do really well in the role.
The rumor I heard was actually very different from the ideas in this thread, and definitely not a name.
