I know, I kept trying to edit the repeat posts to get rid of the excess pics but when I hit Update then the new page timed out and it wouldn't change.

I know this is an old post, but...I think the concept/overall design of the poster is incredible, but the execution could have been much better. I don't really like the line texture, and the coloring is too contrasted. Like somebody brilliant came up with the whole idea, and then passed on the actual creation to somebody whose Photoshop skills were only slightly above average.

I showed these new pictures to my friend and she was horrified. I'm still waiting for myself to become either horrified or markedly intruiged and neither has happened.

If they have any sense, they should let this poster be purchased over the internet. There's no way I'll be able to get to London to see this (as much as that fact upsets me), but the poster is brilliant and I'm dying to have one to hang up in my room. Besides, there are tons and tons of Harry Potter fans that would want it just because it's Dan.

<<< no cold showers needed here. re: Best. Poster. Ever.
he looks anorexic.

Does anyone think this production might transfer over here? I would love to see this play staged rather than just watching the movie (which I did love).

the poster is amazing! However, am I the only one who's slightly disturbed by the fact they are heavily promoting the play on the fact that the Harry Potter kid shows some skin? I am not sure the promos would have made it to BWW if it had been a stage actor for sure but I think the strategy is just too sleazy for theatre.

"What book of rules says that theatre exists only within some ugly buildings crowded into one square-mile of New York City? Wherever there's magic and make-believe and an audience, there's theatre..."

He's an ACTOR. He can play other roles besides Harry Potter. Not to mention the fact that plenty of shows have used a little skin for advertising (especially if it's relevant to the plot), many times with a completely unknown "stage actor." And like it or not, I think the poster would have made it to BWW, as it's the first London revival of a major play.

I wouldn't be surprised if it comes to NY late spring 2008 after the sixth film is completed (if he goes onto it). That is, of course, if it is a respectable hit.

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

Kiddie porn again?

What is it about these pictures that are causing people to lose their ability to think?

First, and most importantly, he's legal. In the UK. Where he's a citizen. Where the pics were taken. Where the play is being produced. Many of us seem to forget that some people -- yes, even entire countries -- have different values than we holier-than-thou Americans.

Second, he's not showing any alledgedly dirty parts.

Third, the pics are completely relevant to the play.

Finally, it's clearly a brilliant marketing campaign. People halfway around the world are talking about just another London revival, be they Harry Potter fans or not. One group is gasping over the admittedly shocking hotness and booking their flights to London...the other group is clutching their pearls in horror because they can't grasp the fact that child actors grow up, play other roles, and develop sexual identities.

Either way, we're talking about it. There are multiple threads on the subject, and it's all over the net...not to mention my hard drive.

Let's face it, EQUUS is not a play for the faint of heart, with or without Mr. Radcliffe in it. The poster is effective for me because it is as frigtening as the subject matter. To the poster above who didn't care for the execution of the idea, I think many theater posters have to be broad brush because they are viewed from a distance, so details and subtlety are lost on most viewers.
