Fan girls have always existed and always will. The internet has made them more visible to the public at large, but I don't think it has really changed their behavior. I remember back in the height of NKOTB there were girls who would have been on the verge of committing crimes in the name of Joey, or Jordan, or whoever.
And the craziness is not exclusively linked to the female fans. Need we forget a certain president who was shot at in the name of Jodie Foster?

...and that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Twitter is lame. I still can't figure out why anyone would want strangers stalking them, knowing where they are all the time, and commenting on their lives. This just further illustrates the high creep factor there is with Twitter.
I think Twitter is great (I've found out about earthquakes more often and quickly there than through mainstream media or the USGS). It's all in how you use it.

True, but it seems most folk use it rather brainlessly.
Wow... this sounds as bad as their whole vendetta against Chelsea Handler...

Maybe they don't realize that the original London cast is not still in the show? Dunno.
I'm fuming. I haven't been this angry in awhile.
Better go and take a breather before I do something as dumb as that idiot fangirl.
I needed a good laugh
Poor Ms Caine. Love her. My condolences.
And LES MIZ does need Jonas Bros fangurlz to ruin things...
Well, Rebecca Caine WAS asking for it... being all Original Cast-ey and stuff.
Oh, here are a few of the fun tweets in question, since they're not linked in the blog post (sorry that I didn't notice!):

Wonderwaiter: Original cast-ey? I doubt she was being stuck up about it and mentioned it more to get these fangirlies--who obviously are mistaking her for someone half her age--off her back. And she was good humored about it, too.
I've always loved Rebecca Caine but I adore her more now.

I feel sorry for Rebecca Caine. What ever happened to respect?!
Some of the teenagers today apparently never learned respect for others.

Ummmm...it's called sarcasm.
