This is silent home movie of Liza’s tech rehearsal (hence Chita’s black t-shirt). The audio (with the applause) is from an audio bootleg and synced to the footage. Yes, that’s Bob Fosse roaming the front of the stage. This clip was first seen recently in the 2021 documentary BROADWAY: BEYOND THE GOLDEN AGE.

Szot mentions in the Playbill interview that he only got the call 3 weeks ago. So I have to imagine whoever they originally had backed out last minute.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I loved it at first, now I'm not sure. It sure does look damn pretty (and Instagrammable) but I kind of love the simplicity of the golden frame and the "Ladies and gentlemen..." breaking into the frame.

I haven't been excited by Chicago in ages. I haven't had a desire to see it since maybe 2014 or 15?
But, I'm so looking forward to seeing this new cast. I think it's a feeling of quintessential Broadway that will be so thrilling to have back.

I agree - though I wonder if this new curtain will be down at the start of the show, or maybe instead will be just at intermission or even the end of show, like the recent 'Hello, Dolly!' revival did. I would prefer if the plain black curtain was used at the top of the show.

You say this with some authority but it is not true. It is a new scrim with black textured lettering across the width of the scrim. The lettering will pick up whatever color is shone on it. The pre-show announcement begins with the letters in gold to match the proscenium, but they gradually turn red as the pre-show announce ends.

Looking at some IG stories last night, it looks like the Chicago lettering is actually separate from the scrim, it looks like it appears by itself over the bows.

It looks like that’s the illuminated sign they use at the end of the show, behind the scrim. But it looks glittery in that photo- perhaps it’s all LED?
