She looks "very formidable"...kind of sturdy. Her voice is not totally awful. I mean...what was the point of her showing her black undies? Now, I'm scarred for life. from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
RC from Austin, I do believe that is the first time I ever saw you say anything negative here! I think my mouth was open in puzzlement the entire time.
But YES, that Rose's Turn is a little...sexualized, isn't it? It's supposed to be a little vulgar, right, but the kicks...oh dear God the kicks! It's just awfully strange.
Guess it's a new interpretation we haven't seen before. That's saying something nice, right?
Tovah's problem is that she believes she's an incredibly sexy woman. And while she's far from ugly, she's far from the Penthouse girl she envisions herself as.
And I am tempted to post "the picture" where she shamelessly shows off her "yentl" to the world.
