Good for IF/THEN, though who knows if it could have been higher in the last week because the producers allowed a discount code up through Thursday (no idea if other discounts were in effect for the last four shows).
I have to attribute the early success of Finding Neverland to a never-ending press blitz. It looks like the reviews may not matter, although I can't see it winning any Tony's.
Was it the 40% online discount code? The last code I saw only went to Thurs. Hmm, if they were giving discounts even for the last show, I wonder if that implies their weekly nut is lower than people might expect, especially since tourists would have been more willing to pay more for the special opening/closing s hows.
Congrats to Honeymoon in Vegas for clinging on, with bloody fingernails, to the third-worst-selling Broadway show slot (of all shows that played a full week)! C'mon, Honeymoon - can you squeak up to 4th from the bottom?
For the last show, there was a technical glitch with ticketmaster. The 40% code stated that is was through March 19th only but the code ended up working for the final performance for a short period of time.

Ohhhh. Okay, well, it took some time for the show to sell out completely, so maybe that error didn't hurt them too badly.

I agree with this. I have not seen the film, heard any of the music, and I find myself wanting to see it... Thanks Harvey!
What an amazing start for FINDING NEVERLAND! How many new musicals, even those based off of movies, start their first full week of previews with million-dollar grosses? Kudos to all involved and I hope it can sustain that level of success!
^Not a shill, dude. Chill out. I've been on this board for 3 years now. I'm actually genuinely surprised and happy for the success this show and in its first week. I did not expect FN to gross that high for WEEKS.
As a PETER PAN fan, I've kept up with the development of this show for a while and am excited to see it. Like most, I'm not the biggest fan of Harvey and some of the choices he has made, but dang - it seems to be working for him so far.
Goodness sakes, people. Stop taking yourselves so seriously.
Nice for Neverland! Looking forward to Skylight. Is On the Town closing the balcony for some performances? Foe example, as per Telecharge this Thursday almost the whole orchestra and mezz are available. However, there is not a seat to be had in the balcony. I have noticed this for other dates too? Is this a strategy? Groups buying it out? Strange.
"Having a profile for 3 years and just deciding to start posting = suspicious."
The guy who has been here 5 years and has less than 100 posts calling out the guy who as "Broadway Star" has between 400 and 999 posts as a shill. Always good for a laugh.
I love how any person who doesn't post much that decides to express their excitement for a show's success is assumed to be a shill. According to Stew, only regular visitors on this site are allowed to have opinions.
