Interesting to see a very slight change in the Opening Night playbill for 'A View from The Bridge'. If it is listed as an Opening Night playbill, does it mean that it is specifically for opening night or will they continue to use it?

I actually like China Doll's design for their playbill, but don't understand why it's in B/W - perhaps for an artistic reason.

I may be wrong but recently PlaybillVault seems to be slacking in updating their "Just Updated" sections. I can't complain as it is such an extensive and fantastic service!

That FUN HOME one is an amazing improvement.

If it's going to be black and white, the Fun Home cover is easier to read this way but I'm not sure I like it. It feels overly stark... like all the whimsy is gone from the original color design.

I like that Noises Off went for an actual illustration even if the characters all have a same-y look. But are they just not going to have a color cover? Whatever, it's a step up from On the 20th Century.

Something still bothers me about the way Danny Burstein's body is positioned on the Fiddler Playbill. Has it been photoshopped or am I just seeing things?

Yeah, his left arm is position strangely.

Is that supposed to be Burstein??

Roundabout never has color playbills I believe.

Not sure how to upload the picture but Something Rotten! is going black and white in January 2016.

Not too sure about that new Allegiance Playbill. At least have Telly on there too, considering he's like, you know, one of the leads. LOL

Having the Something Rotten cover in black and white really highlights all that negative space in a bad way. I like the new Allegiance cover. If you're going to use photos of the actors, this is the way to do it. I do think you lose a bit of the American flag in the origami flower though.

I agree about the Something Rotten Playbill, it looks very empty.

There's something strange about the slogan on Something Rotten's new Playbill. Or maybe it's the fact that it's on there at all.

Allegiance, well... woof.

"Allegiance, well... woof."

What do you not like about it? For a Playbill cover with photos I think it looks pretty elegant and understated and not like a cheap photoshop job. I feel like it captures an emotion in a way that these things usually don't.

I agree, I'm pretty disappointed with the Something Rotten cover. They turned a pretty good cover into a horrible one. And Allegiance looks great--perhaps even better than its original one.

I agree that Allegiance's new black and white playbill is an improvement from their previous playbill, and better than most black and white playbills anyway. I guess Telly isn't on the playbill since I doubt he is one of the show's main draws.

Also, 'The Color Purple' goes Black and White for January.

Color Purple doesn't look bad at all in black and white. I just wish it could stay, well, purple.

"I understand why 'Curious Incident' is going B/W as their grosses haven't been the strongest recently, but American in Paris puzzles me. Perhaps their advance isn't looking so good for the winter and they are trying to lower costs to ready themselves for the onslaught of new shows in the Spring, or trying to recoup more quickly?

I'm happy I already snagged a Pride version of the AAIP Playbill at the flea. But I don't think the black and white looks that bad because the artwork is strong and the black and white fits the show in a way. I think it obviously looks better in color but like Dames at Sea it doesn't bother me too much. I think The Color Purple is on the better side of the photo covers because of the layout and title treatment, especially with the flowers. I still think something like the new Allegiance cover sends a stronger message though.
