I used to pass by the theatre frequently and find Lopez out in the lobby during the show.
I can't wait to see videos of this. I was supposed to be out there to see it tonight but I wasn't able to make the trip.

This was very good tonight. Sarah Bowden's Cassie was quite great. And, honestly, Mario Lopez really was pretty good!
Really loved the lighting and mirrors. That stuff worked well at the Bowl.
Not really much to report except that it was a very good production, and I cried and got goosebumps at times. If you're in LA, see it tomorrow or Sunday.
yes, Lopez was on stage during Zach & Cassie's scene before M&TM. Lopez was also the point during the pyramid section in the finale. Ugh!
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
as I expected, to fill the stage for the opening, more cut dancers were added. Looks like there were 13 total, instead of 7.

Did they add in bows at the very end separate from the finale for this?
Doesn't that go against the entire message of the finale, where these people you've spent the whole evening getting to know blend back into the chorus?
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

YUP and i hate that. there had never been a curtain call in A Chorus Line......
Krysta sounds great as Diana. It's been 10 year since she was Bebe on broadway, so this is coming full circle with this show, in a way.
Best of all, she looks wonderfully healthy. I know it's been nearly 2 years since she received her cancer diagnosis, but seeing her onstage happy and healthy through Spring Awakening and this is fabulous.
really?? Bows in the finale?? Why?? Michael Bennett is rolling over in his grave right now.

I hate the added bows too, BUT, we have to remember that even though its a fully staged presentation, its still "technically" a concert presented by the LA Phil. As such, it would have been a huge break in decorum to not have bows where the orchestra is acknowledged etc. I don't think we need to fear that this addition is going to become a permanent thing in future productions of A CHORUS LINE.
“I knew who I was this morning, but I've changed a few times since then.”
also hoping the full opening pops up & music & the mirror.

It truly sucks when Dance: 10; Looks: 3 is not done correctly. I judge the excellence of any CHORUS LINE production by the execution of this number and Paul's monologue. If they don't get those two things right then the whole thing just falls flat for me.
WTF is with Lopez's accent. Every time he says "5, 6, 7, 8" I want to vomit.

that LA times review gives praise to Mario Lopez and wants to see him in another musical. Really?? He can't sing, so any other role with singing is excluded. No thanks.
Also surprised there aren't most clips available. Was hoping to see the whole "Montage" and also the entire version of "At The Ballet" to see what Zimmerman does as Sheila.

The website broadwaywest.net has some more videos includes At The Ballet and Paul's monologe. I think Sheila was ok but mara Davi was so good as Maggie as she was on Broadway as was Jason Tam.
Saw the show last Saturday and thought it was a very good presentation of the musical. For the most part, the cast was excellent. I do have to single out the actress who played Val. I thought she was miscast. Mario Lopez danced very well though his acting lacked that bite I would have hoped for from Zach. They did have sound issues and some cast members had to be given hand-held microphones. Still, it was an excellent presentation from the Hollywood Bowl.
