I saw avenue q last night and there was an insert in the program that said, "tonight the role of gary coleman will be played by carmen ruby floyd" and then it said they were welcoming a new understudy for gary coleman to the cast and it had her headshot and bio and all. Does this mean Natalie Venetia Belcon left? Thanks
I know that most of the Q principal cast is contacted to at least July 04. I don't think Ms.Belcon would leave right before the Tonys either. Was Ms Floyd good?
Natalie is injured and out for a month.

She's a great singer and was wonderful in "Little Ham" and "Crowns."
I saw Avenue Q last week, and I, too, saw Carmen Ruby Floyd. She has a great voice, but she talks too quickly, and most of the time you couldn't understand what she was saying because the words didn't come out very well. When you could understand her, though, she was funny.
Natalie's injured! Oh no!
I hope it's not her foot again!
I ruv you Natalie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope she's okay! When she was in Rent, she had trouble with her throat and soon left. Hopefully she can still finish out her run in Avenue Q!
Yes, its her foot.

Her throat problems were VERY apparent towards the end of her run. Still, she was fierce and fabulous...probably the best in her cast at that point in time.
Natalie was in today's matinee.
Thank goodness! I'm sure Ms Floyd was great but injuries are no fun (unlike drinking games as the Bad Ideas Bears would say).
Just curious... who did Natalie play in Rent? She's fabulous in Avenue Q.
Yeah she seemed pretty on today so even if she was still bothered by her injury she wasn't showing it at all.

Natalie was in Rent from I believe late 2000 to late 2001. She was an AMAZING Joanne, very fierce, very loud. Apply her "Loud as the Hell" voice to "Take Me or Leave Me" and "We're Ok" and you have her Joanne. I really loved her, I wish I had seen her a couple more times. Plus, she was a bright spot in a pretty sucky cast. The Dark Ages, we like to call them.
