Who is your pick for best triple threat of all time? And is there someone in the current Broadway community who you think will go down in history as one of the top?

I agree with musictheatreman. You cant beat Chita or Sutton.

I am almost positive there was a thread dealing with this a while back...

Honey, there's been threads about everything before.

but whats the point of discussin the same thing...oh well, guess it doesn't matter............
we mainly discuss things over and over until some news comes along. then discuss that, over and over. its a very vicious cycle.
Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis, Jr. would be good picks.
Well my guess would be Liza. BUT Kelly could choreograph which moves him slightly up a notch. Tommy Tune as well. Updated On: 6/20/04 at 04:45 PM
I'd definitely go with Liza Minelli for Best Female and Gene Kelly for Best Male, if I'm allowed to do that. I think that Sutton is going to go down as an incredible triple threat, as well.

BSM !! "Ragtime", in my opinion, showcased his unbelievable talent !!!

BSM a dancer?
How about Gwen Verdon? Bebe Neuwirth? Ann Reinking? Shirley Maclaine? Angela Lansbury (who was a great dancer in her prime -- check out Broadway: The Golden Age to see her going step for step with the dancing chorus)? Ben Vereen? Jim Dale? Helen Gallagher? Joel Grey? Debbie Allen?

BSM danced quite well in his "Gettin' Ready Rag" in RAGTIME. He also replaced Gregory Hines in JELLY'S LAST JAM.

BSM danced a lot in "Ragtime".. he was excellent !!
how 'bout Karen Ziemba (not the best of all-time.....but pretty damn good)

I've seen BSM dance in those shows (and in "Mail" back in the 80's) and I thought he danced OK for a singer/actor, but he wasn't what I'd call a real triple threat (a la Hines or Vereen) but I guess technically he is one.

Kristin Chenoweth. though she hasnt done many dancing shows, the girl is an amazing dancer!
When I started this thread, Ziemba was the person I had in mind - not only is she a top-notch singer, dancer, AND musical actress - she's a fine dramatic actress as well. How many of those are there?
I do not like Ms. Verdon's voice, oly time it was okay with me was in DAMN YANKEES. My father saw Liza in CHICAGO on broadway and said she sucked as a daner. I never saw her dance except in CABARET bu, you know Hollywood, they can make anyone look good.
I'm surprised I forgot about Harold Lang and Hugh Jackman!
Dick Van Dyke is another good pick (Pity he didn't do too many Broadway shows in his prime).
