why does everyone hate Miss Saigon?
I just find it funny that titanic has already shown up on this list twice with two different songs :-P obviously it has more the one non forgettable song according to that! :-P
as for my opinion wicked defying gravity (sorry the other songs urk me)
Ok, if I had to pick ONE song from Miss Saigon as being memorable, it wouldn't be American Dream. It would be I'll Give My Life For You.
My favorite showtune is from MISS SAIGON. It's "Movie In My Mind". I think it's a gorgeous song.
And you'd be right.
Copy that.
In Wicked's defense, it may have one good song (I'd argue two - Popular and What Is This Feeling), but the rest isn't forgettable. It's memorably bad.
Edited: I mean "b-a-a-a-a-d".
I do like Defying Gravity and No Good Deed. I also love the "we belong together" parts of Dancing Through Life. But that's just me.
type thats too funny! and i definitely have to agree

Songs I like from WICKED that are on my iPod -
I'm Not That Girl
Thank Goodness
As Long As You're Mine
No Good Deed
For Good
Good call Plum. Really, when you think about it, "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina" isn't memorable because it's a good song. People only know it because it's repeated in pop culture so much.
And actually, yeah, popcultureboy, I would have to agree that the first half of Dancing Through Life (pretty much up until after Boq's bit) is pretty good, but then I skip the rest.
Have I just conceded to liking 2.5 Wicked songs??? OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG - I'm a WICKED FAN!!
Oh god Matt, you just reminded me of As Long As You're Mine. That makes 3.5 songs. I'm going to be banished from here for a long long time. *hangs head in shame*

Oh, then there's always my playlist of Songs in Rent That Actually Bear Repeated Listening.
The list consists of:
"Will I?"
"Santa Fe"
"I'll Cover You"
"Seasons of Love"
"Seasons of Love B"
"I'll Cover You (Reprise)"
What can I say? I like Jesse L. Martin's voice.

I love Jesse's voice too
Um, I wouldn't say unbearable, just boring (for me anyway), but for me, Caroline. The song is Lot's Wife, obviously lol
Don't get me wrong, the performances are amazing, and itd probably be different if I had seen the show, but that's just my opinion.

Wow. You don't even like "Salty Teardrops" or "I Hate the Bus?"
"I Enjoy Being a Girl"- Flower Drum Song
"Life After Life"- Dracula
"Creation of Man" and "Into the Fire"- Scarlet Pimpernel
Flower Drum Song -- one good number? Pu-leeze. There's a little ditty called "Love Look Away," one of the most beautiful in the R&H repetoire. And "Hundred Million Miracles" and all the (other) comedy songs. Give it another listen -- but go back to the original, or the film. The PC revival was okay, but sometimes PC-ing a story strips it of its entertainment value.

LOL, I dont particularly agree, but it still made me laugh
as for my shows/songs:
Tick TIck Boom-- I usually only listen to the CD for '30/90' and 'Louder than Words'... The other songs aren't bad, they just don't do anything for me.
You're a Good Man Charlie Brown-- Now I haven't seen this one, but the cast recording is pretty cool. Except I end up cutting a lot of songs short or skipping them altogether because it REALLY bothers me on the parts where they are actually TRYING to sound bad. Cheno's voice already sometimes others me, I don't need her trying to annoy me.
EDIT: oh yea and in Taboo, I usually only listen to the CD for 'Petrified', the rest still gets listened to, but not put on repeat.

You think Chenoweth is the annoying one on the YAGMCB CD? The actress who played Lucy was unbelievable on her high notes, and not in a good way. I got used to it after about 5 listens, but my goodness. "Irritating" doesn't even begin to describe it.
FUNNY GIRL has two: 'People' and 'Don't Rain on My Parade'
The rest of the show is horrendous.
I hate Lucy on YAGMCB. She doesn't sing. She shrieks! Also:
