ok well after taking a fall and banging my chin...going to the flea market in an ugly chin strap that looked like a jock strap lol... i only stayed for 45 minutes. My mom was kind enough to take me in around 9:20...and the market was already packed and opened! The first stop was the RENT table..costumes not so good this year but I got some cool stuff, got some hairspray pins and keychains and millie stuff which was a little high priced but worth it..once on this island video..phantom ballet shoes and thats about it. I got to see heather too (feathah) it was great seeing you. I started to feel real sick so we left but it was a nice morning and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. I tried looking for broadwayworld.com shirts but didnt see anyone :o( xoxo to all... i wish i could of met my auntie sueleen

I'm not the only one. I didn't find much at this market either. Maybe it's because I came later but it seemed a lot blanker *if that is even a word) than last year. Kinda disappointed. But oh well.
I got three shirts from Phantom and that's about it.
Ok I just got home from the market!! I had a blast I spent most of the morning in line for pictures. The guy taking money knew me before the first hour was over because I kept asking when Kerry was coming. They weren't going to bring her over the Pic. booth at all and then they told me she left and I was gonna cry . But it turned out she didn't leave and they brought her over and I meet her and got a pic with her :). I apparently for got how to talk and chew gum because I swallowed my gum when I was talking to her lol. I also go to take pictures with Hunter Foster, Harvey Fierstein!! and I was the last one to get a pic with Nathan Lane I think I scared him but that's ok lol!! I went to the Hairspray table 2x's one time Harvey was there and charging $50 to take pictures but I got to chat with Jennifer Gambatese (penny) and the next time Hollie Howard who remembered me from another time I meet her in a pizza place.
I bought chances to win a few different tickets to a few different shows, a Hairspray key chain, a Bway cares pin, and different chances to shows. I won tickets to Boob's the musical? for Nov. 6th.
***speaking of that is anyone won tickets from that place that had the Blue tickets and you open them and you win the tickets that match the # inside. If anyone won tickets to a show other then Boobs and would like to trade for it I would be soo very willing. The tickets are for Nov 6th at 8:00. If anyone is interested PM me thanx.***
All in all I had a fun day!!
PS Amneris I hope you chin heals fast. Fell better.
Grace: My love for you is like this scar (points to elbow) ulgy but permanent!
JUST woke up from a lovely nap after too many mimosas at brunch.
Barry & I enjoyed the market as always (and the weather could not be bettered). Aside from getting some nice LPs (yes, some of us still use our old record players) which were being sold at 5 for $1, an autographed pic of Brad Oscar, two AVENUE Q cookies (saw lots of the cast working the table, including cutie John T.) and a nifty vintage Osterizer (yes, I HAD to buy something VERY heavy early in the day, didn't I?) I didn't find much else. I found it got VERY crowded VERY early - by 11:30, the street was veering on being uncomfortabe and you could not even get near to the poster and CD tables they were so busy. One part of Shubert Alley had awnings over it which made it very claustrophobic and after a look-see at the celeb table (which was mobbed before any clebs got there and had a line of people that stretched to Slovakia), Barry & I decided to call it a day.
I'll bet this is a record year for BROADWAY CARES.
I wish i was in nyc but i live in chicago =P! i was wondering if they had anything interesting at the Nine, tmm, or hairspray table like props!!!! jw aiite thanx ~pc~
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
I, too had a nice time at the Flea Market. The best part of the day was getting my picture taken with Nathan Lane and revealing that I was the infamous "Dollypop". At first he seemed concerned when I was unbuttoning my shirt, but it was to reveal my famous Carol Channing t-shirt. He said, "I'm scared...I'm very scared". He was really good-natured though.
I was searching high and low for our handsome leader, but Rob didn't seem to be anywhere. There wasn't a single BroadwayWorld T-shirt to be found.
The Flea Market was a good time this year...I went through the celeb table and was very happy with it...I gave Chita Rivera her record and she loved it...Meeting her and Nathan Lane made my day... I purchased ballet shoes from POTO, cd of Lea DeLaria, two pics of Chicago, pin from Chicago, shorts from Cabaret, glove from Gypsy, and thats about it... I cant wait till next year...
I had a dream...
I dreamed it for you June...
It wasn't for me Herbie...
And if it wasn't for me, then where would you be,
Miss. Gypsy Rose Lee?
I did not get there until after 3:00 p.m. and tried to remember what everyone said they would be wearing etc. I did not see any celebrities at the tables, nor my fellow Broadwayworld.com friends. Where were you guys hiding?????? I bought a calendar, raffle tickets for shows, CDs but I was so disappointed I did not see any of my friends here on Broadwayworld.com.
"Life is not measured by the number
of breaths we take, but by moments
that take our breath away."
"Life isn't about how to survive the storm,
but how to dance in the rain."
My cousin and I stopped by the flea market en route to the Imperial to see the Boy From Oz. Didn't find anything of real interest, but did see Nathan Lane and Bernadette Peters from a distance... and I thought I saw a Broadwayworld.com shirt somewhere along the way!
I had a great time collecting many signatures at the celebrity table and taking my poster over to the table to be framed for just $20! I enjoyed chatting with my friend Denis O'Hare who urged me to take a photo of him and Audra. At the moment it was light so we had time to chat. I got a photo with Harvey but got to the photo area too late for Nathan -- big disappointment. I bought some Producers stuff and talked to a few cast members. Cady Huffman showed up and we gabbed for a while. I bought a Mamma Mia poster for my boyfriend and a group photo from the Broadway 9/11 ad. Very crowded but a lot of fun. I'm already looking forward to next year!!
