Seussical

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I'm not sure that I would call "Sunday in the Park with George" a flop.

I did like SIX DANCE LESSONS. Very much - I thought it was really really sweet, and actually got tears in my eyes in the end. By no means is it great show - or even a good one, but something about it resonated with me and deeply touched me. I'll never be able to hear "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys again without thinking of a dying Polly Bergen dancing with Mark Hammill. I just really liked it. Who knows...

I would have liked to see Uta Hagen be able to have brought that show to Broadway, but we all know how that one turned out. RIP Uta.

Ditto "The Wild Party".

Yeah, we've had the debate over Sunday in the Park being a flop or not. I added it because I don't think it got the recognition it deserves.

Did anyone else have the pleasure to see this?

And URBAN COWBOY. I liked it more than some things still running on Broadway.
