And in my opinion, without a doubt. Stand away!

Did you stand for the show? I love Tim Curry.

"Did you stand for the show?"

No. I bought tickets way in advance at full price. Curry and co. were fine, but that was the problem. They were just fine. Nothing special. Except Sara Ramirez. She was incredible.

I am a Monty Python fanatic. And Curry is one of my favorite actors.

I'm a Python fanatic, too. I still greatly disliked it. I would take DRS any day.

If you're a Monty Python fanatic and Tim Curry is one of your favourite actors, then surely you shouldn't need to ask whether Spamalot is worth standing for or not.

I saw DRS and Norbert was exceptional but I did not love it like everyone else.
Well honey. I could wait a year and get it at TKTS.
Do you have any idea how many shows I see.
It's exhausting to even think about it. Updated On: 4/2/05 at 10:53 AM

I think you should do it, Corine. You will probably love the show.

They compare it to Forbidden Broadway with glitz.
Do you have any idea how much I could like this.

I'd say it's worth standing for. If you love Tim Curry and the Monty Python material, you should enjoy yourself. I also thought the production was exquisitely designed by Tim Hatley.

Magruder-
How many standing room tickets do they have for each show.
And if you are really short, will you see.

I'm not really sure if that's a question you can ask anyone else and get a meaningful response - if someone really enjoyed the show, they'll say yes. If they didn't, they'll say no. At any rate, there has certainly been considerable discussion about the show on this message board, and about Tim's role in it, not to mention media review after media review available online. Consider the reviews, and how often you agree with the reviewer. It seems clear that while Tim Curry is the lead, it isn't a showcase role like Norbert's in DRS. Personally, if it were me (a non-Python fan but *huge* Tim Curry fan), I'd go for it. The chance to see Tim as part of the original cast of a huge hit show would be enough. However, you'd need to make that particular decision for yourself. There's enough info out there to enable the decision you make to be an educated one.

For what it's worth (i.e. darn little), I'm flying up from Florida to NYC later this month specifically to see the show, purely on the strength of Tim's presence in it. I won't be standing, but I'll be spending a lot of money to be there. And even if I wind up not being particularly crazy about the show, I'm sure I'll still consider it worthwhile, just to see him!

When I was single, I would stand for a lot of shows if I had to. It doesn't work when you get married. Besides have tickets for memorial day weekend so the question is really a moot point for me

Roxy? What is the logic about being single?
Single people are able to stand but married couples can't stand?
That makes no sense.
A single monster can stand but a married one can't.
Please explain to the single monster.
I find that interesting. A ring makes it impossible to stand.
Did you give MRS Roxy a 20 carat ring which makes it impossible to stand?
LOL

The Shubert's standing room slopes up as you get toward the middle. I think you'd see better over the rail if you ask for a position slightly to the side. The box office will be able to tell you better than I could. I think there may be about 20 standing room positions at the back of the orchestra?

I think it is worth going. And at the end of act one, the actors will run by you re: Is Spamalot Worth Standing For?. Have a great time!

Nope I just could do it single as it did not matter to me

Together, I just like sitting. I would only do standing room when single on a few occasions. Sorry, but no 20 karat ring. Plus she has less stamina since her cancer surgery & treatment a few years ago

I have no desire to see this show ever again so I won't be taking advantage of standing room. Before I saw it however, if that was my only way in I would have.

I did not go to Rare and look what happened to me.

Go see it, Corine.....

Standing might be your only option of a decent view for quite some time and if what's really guiding you is being a fan of Tim's, I'd say it's worth it.

Actually Tim is not it. I love him, but Python is my thing.
When I was a kid my friends used to hang out and watch The Meaning of life over and over.
I love Python humor.
