Lennon only has the understudies...Rona and Darren, I believe.
Darren was terrific though, I saw him go on for Chad during previews

Finally a Jewish musical does a Jewish song. (Light One Candle is a Chanuka song by Peter Yarrow of Peter Paul & Mary fame.)
I would've expected "Lennon" to do "Merry Xmas (War is Over)". Makes much more sense, doncha tink?

The song is actually called "So This Is Christmas," but yeah, I thought the same thing! A Christmas song by John Lennon would be much more appropriate... oh well!
Thank you so much, broadwaystar2b!!! I just pre-ordered mine.
Wouldn't it be funny to have the cast of Doubt do "Frosty the Snowman"? (You won't get that joke if you haven't seen or read the play. Sorry.)

Does anyone else think it's funny that the Sweeney cast is singing Deck the Halls? Just me then, okay!

That's not what my fake book calls it. It calls it "Happy Xmas (War is Over)."

I wasn't going to order it because its a two-disc (which = lots of money I don't have), but $20 isn't bad at all. Plus, the proceeds go to charity, no? I love me some Christmas music... I'll buy it. Thanks for the link!

I had actually begun a thread about this weeks ago and posted the songs. I got mine yesterday. I want to commend all who participated because it is for a great cause. And I think everyone will love it!!!
I haven't listened to the second disc yet. My favorite so far is Spelling Bee's version of Twelve Days of Christmas (no surprise!)
but I do have one question--What was the cast of Sweet Charity thinking????? I am anxious to hear others responses once you have listened....
Thanks alot broadwaystar2b! I love my "Carols For A Cure" collection. This is one of the few years I won't be able to be in NY and purchase it at the theater so I'm on my way to order it now. Love the 2 disc sets too! Xmas is in the air at broadwayworld!
It's a good set. I picked it up yesterday when I saw TRAILER PARK again. I was a bit dissapointed that some of my favorites like Patti LuPone, Carolee Carmello, Joanna Gleason and a lot of others from the shows that have songs, did not sing.
I am ashamed to admit that I don't have any of the Carols for a Cure CDs.
Looks like I am going to break down and buy them all.

Just ordered myself a copy late last night.
BTW ... Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - O Holy Night ...
that cut's sung by Gregory Jbara and Rachel de Benedet.
Can't wait to hear that one especially and looking forward
to listening to the whole CD!
"Wouldn't it be funny to have the cast of Doubt do "Frosty the Snowman"? "
Omigosh YES, that would have been hysterical!!!
I'm not a very religious person, but getting the Carols for a Cure CDs has sort of become one my few holiday traditions
Just wanted to spread a little early holiday cheer
PS: I won't get mine till Nov.1 but can anyone tell me who has this year's CD tell me who sings what?

Who sings what on Chitty? Is it the ensemble, or do I need to hear this?

That has got to be the fastest turnaround time I've seen. Got my CD today... but I refuse to listen to it until Christmas season (day after Thanksgiving!)

Got an email yesterday saying mine should be delivered on the 27th.
Can't wait! Literally ... no way I'm holding off until Thanksgiving to listen to it. (sue me! ha ha) I admire your control, timote!

So anyone who has listened to it - is the song from Chitty the same song from The Happiest Millionaire? I'm assuming it is, especially since they're both Sherman Bros.-related movies/shows.
I am definitely ordering a copy, but I can't decide whether I want to wait until closer to Christmas or not...
Yay Chicago opening the CD.
Now do the ensembles sing most of these songs? The leads? Or a mix of both? I'm confused.

It depends. Usually says in the liners though.
One year, Raul sang with Cabaret. He had left Cabaret in 2002, quite a few emcees came and went, and he is still singing lead on the Cabaret song from the 2003 CD, when Adam was the emcee.
