Steph back at Birdland!!! My one woman show, "All Smiles," will be back at Birdland on Monday, June 26th AND Tuesday, June 27th. I will sing some of my favorite tunes and there will also be a few new songs added to the show! Tickets will be $35.00 with $10.00 food/drink minimum. I'm hoping to see some familair faces for support and some news fans/friends in the audience.
Call Birdland for reservations (212) 581-3080 make sure to specify what night you would like to come....
Jeez, who can plan that far ahead? I totally wanna go though. She's worth it. I hope she sings her song from The Boy From Oz.

I just called and made my June 26 reservations. Saw her last time at Birdland, she was great! Looking forward to seeing her again. Travelling down to Philly in April to catch her in Wicked too!
Not very happy about that... Got a hotel room, bringing the kids. Had no idea she would leave before Philly..... Was the only reason we were going there, we live 15 min from NYC!
Ken, I guess all you can really do is just think of it as a lesson learned to check more thoroughly in the future on departure dates and such... it does suck though, and I'm sorry. But everything happens for a reason and, if it's any consolation, I'm sure you and kids will still enjoy it a lot!
No worries. IF it's true that Julia Murney is taking over as Elphaba, you can rest easy. Though two completely different women, both are EXCELLENT performers and kind people.
And Ken, rest easy - if Julia Murney IS taking over, you won't be disappointed.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

And now she's going to be there on the 19th as well!!
If I had waited a bit longer I may have arranged my trip a little bit differently. Oh well.... I can't wait! June can't come soon enough, I could really use the vacation :)
"Stephanie J. Block will throw a "Block Party" on June 26th and 27th ($35). " The star of The Boy From Oz, Wicked, and the upcoming Pirate Queen brings her dazzling concert to Birdland for the third time. In addition to singing standards, Stephanie will perform a rarely heard ballad cut from Wicked, swinging duets with musical director/performer Billy Stritch and a medley of '60s songs."
First of all, I think it's hilarious that she's throwing a "BLOCK PARTY"... that's a term that people on her message boards have been using for a while! HA HA
AND I THINK WE'LL BE HEARING "MAKING GOOD!"... though the ballad part of the description is throwing me off. Was "MAKING GOOD" a ballad?
